ne-vah-duh..but i might be considered a redneck to most.

amusing story some poker players might like. Would like opinions on this from anybody that ever played seriously as i played fulltime for 3 years and part-time online until black friday for about 6. I was in Vegas playing at the flamingo this past week and a dude brought up 2+2 at the table (awful awful table). It was a 1-2 table and i asked him what his name was on here, he said he won't tell me and naturally i asked why? he said well i could go and look up his stats and know when to 3-bet him and what his reraising percentages were.

Now im an older type school player and while i made a decent living off of playing online i usually only played 4-5 tables max and never used a hud or anything like that. Just remembered players from playing with them and took that approach. I know it might be silly but Im pretty lazy. I laughed at him and told him he must not have much confidence in his game if he really is afraid I would do that. Who the **** would do that? At a 1-2 game? Anybody disagree or was dude being ridiculous?

I live in Nevada and sometimes say Nev-a-da and sometimes say Nuh-va-da, no real rhyme or reason as to why.

Driving around town today and ended up driving out through Parumph and out through Death Valley today with the wife. Pretty cool, had no real idea it was *that* close. Basically a hair over 2 hours from Las Vegas. Very neat place.

It's pretty funny how badly Americans pronounce Los Angeles, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc... lol

I won't even get into how French words are pronounced down here. I've had many a blank stare over the years pronouncing things correctly only to be told the Americanized version. Then again hearing the Metro announcer lady in Paris pronounce the Franklin Roosevelt stop was just as hilarious, so whatevs.

There is a ****ty mall near me (Baton Rouge) named "Cortana Mall". While discussing it the other day a co-worker (local) started loling at me because I pronounced it "Court-ahna" like ****ing Cortana in halo. She said it's pronounced Court-anna. I was pretty perplexed.

I always feel like a total douche when saying americanized foreign place-names in the true foreign pronunciation, so I just don't. What, if I don't say "Sahhn Diego" some hispanic dude is gonna come kick my ass? Who cares. Noze, do you say "New Or-lee-on" or "New Orlins" (Or New Orleeeeeens!) Americanized versions are fine because, guess what, this is America

New Or-lee-uns drives me and many, many others absolutely nuts. New Orlins ftw. New Orleens is Ok. Or N'awlins if you're a total tool.

Yeah I read Schu's post and immediately thought "he left out New OR-lee-uns. Seems like the ESPN crew say this a lot. They say a lot of **** wrong though. Bristol, Connecticut must be Hickville, USA.

Brought it up here before, but I still maintain that the biggest butchering is Brett Favre. Should be Fah-ver with that French peanut-butter-in-the-roof-of-the-mouth r. An Americanized Fah-ver with a regular r or just making it Fahv like we do with the Louvre would be perfectly fine but how the **** did the r get moved in front of the v? Even saying favor would be better.

Does anyone else have the problem when watching HBOGO where the picture quality alternates between good and blurry throughout? Drives me crazy.
