Sports fandom is so odd. People seem to like UM basketball right now but each and every football game of theirs is preceded by pics of the UM/AppSt. scoreboard and all that.

GOAT Coast stuff I get, everyone loves an underdog and they were a blast to watch. UM is still the same school it always was but people jumped on the wagon recently.

My interest in Michigan lies more in the fact that they have two lotto caliber players who will be entering the 2013 draft, and my favorite NBA team will have two lotto picks. I could not care less whether they win, I just like seeing Trey and Mitch PWN and envision them doing that for my team.

fwiw i absolutely hated the michigan basketball team while I was an undergrad in Ann Arbor. I ****ed hated Brent Petway and they sucked anyways. Liked them a lot more once he left.

McGary has not been very good for the entire year. He had his moments, and seems to have broken out during the tournament, but I'll be super surprised if he has the demand to leave this year.

It's not just the NBA range; it's the rare playmaking ability in the half-court in high-leverage spots. If he can get some better finishing skills, gets stronger, etc. he can develop into a major weapon. His ceiling is Tony Parker with an outside shot.

i don't root against teams because of specific posters. still, games where your teams aren't playing sure are a hell of a lot more fun to watch when there's a clear side to root against
