The areas circled in red are legal parking spots. The New York City Traffic rules allow parking at some "T" intersections—those without traffic signals, all-way stop signs or crosswalk markings—even if there is a curb cut at that location.

There's this exact type of intersection on my street. However, the parking ticket person on my street is a ****ing moron and gives out tickets for this. iirc they are $165, not cheap ones. I got one a year ago, fought it and won, had to pay $0. But I'm not gonna spend hours per week at the DMV fighting these tickets, so essentially I can't park there anymore. After I got the ticket a year ago I showed the next traffic cop I could find that diagram and she had no idea about the rule. Oh well, first world problems I guess
