This week I've been trying pate sandwiches and roast beef in an effort to get more red meat and fats into my diet. It's pretty much rocked. Obviously mustard is key, but I've tried red pepper hummus and homemade olive oil mayonaise as condiments as well. Also switched to organic palm oil from amish butter for bread-making and the results have been spectacular!

It turns out a good pate without MSG is tough to track down these days, since evidently "natural flavors" can be used as a synonym. In fact I wouldn't mind making my own but I can't even seem to find liver in stores anymore. And there are literally cow pastures all around here.

Yes. Where I live, it can be rather difficult to get good food because the locals have no taste. Don't even get me started on bread around here (although it's notably better than Chicago).

Once you start making your own foodstuffs, it can be quite addictive between perfect taste and knowing exactly what's in it.

Mine is a pretty specific case, but basically need to add protein, cut down on chicken, and already eat plenty of fish. Also lactose intollerant.

For years, I've mainly only eaten beef as a standalone meal (21 day aged porterhouse) or tartar with an occaisional burger thrown in like a dozen times per year total. So now just trying to work in a little here and there as part of a balanced meal a few times per week.

Well, a wrench has been thrown into my Vegas plans...

Truck mysteriously shut off in the middle of a curvy, ten mile long 6% downgrade (steepest standard interstate grade). Somehow I safely made it to a stop on the shoulder with no power breaks or steering. I almost used a runaway truck ramp. I'm maybe 50 yards past one.

Truck will not start. Not a mechanic, obviously, but I find nothing obviously wrong. Proper fluid levels, no structural damage or leaky brakes, etc. Everything they taught us to check is seemingly how it should be. Shaken, though, so maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Am at 78,500 points, too. Max legal 80k.

I'm thinking like +450 I get fired, with chance of manual error baked in.
