i have a really hard time ranking the sopranos seasons tho compared to the wire's which are for the most part consensus

so we got showtime a few weeks ago again. so on-demand i saw season 2 of homeland. its pretty elite. i get a little bored with the whole family stuff, but you know the plot keeps you guessing and the actress playing carrie is great as is brody. and you are still guessing what is going to happen in season 3.

i still like "the americans" on FX. i wont say its better than homeland, but its trippy. 2 bad ass KGB agents in 1982 washington dc. travel agents, 2 kids, and killer commie spies. i was like a kid then and remember that stuff so thats why i dig it more than most i think i dunno.

i have season 7 of dexter ready. you know, dexter was a top 5 goat first few years. still pretty great at least season 6 was fine.

sopranos, the wire, breaking bad, mad men, and lost. are the gold standard imo but the above shows are up there too.

other showtime shows i have seen: weeds. i saw like seasons 4 and 5 and think 6 or something i dunno. it lost steam at the end and didnt finish it, but i can see how if you got into it at the beginning, it could be pretty good.

californication: the first 2 seasons, maybe the first 3, i cant remember, were great. then it jumped the shark into just mindless modern sex exploration, or somebodies idea of modern sex i dunno really, i still jack off manually. and tired LA bs.

what else...i like nurse jackie. lol. its alright tbh that and "episodes" are good i just cant really get into it this year for some reason.

entourage was really good for a while, then not really at all. and deadwood was sick man.

if homeland delivers a season or two as good as it has been so far, then it might be time to put it in that elite tier.

Dexter has never been among the GOAT shows. Solid early seasons but never good enough to be considered among the elite.
