how had there never been a Pope retire before?

aren't they all old and senile by the end?

being half jew half catholic is the nuts. you get all the presents but don't have to actually sit through any of the boring religious ****, or worse yet get tricked into believing any of it

There had been Popes retire before, just not in the last 600 years. You're basically expected to do the job until you die.

Pretty sure every graph I've ever seen here with that kind of discontinuity immediately craters to -20000 or so pretty soon

Nothing screams relevance louder than electing a guy who is tiptoeing around his life expectancy as head of your organization

**** it, life is short. Gave up trying to fix my radio and bought a brand new one. BB Kaaaaang's Bluesville is good for the soul.

Hit the interstate and they're in the middle of a huge set of loud, defiant songs with pounding, driving beats. Exactly what I needed.

if my family and friends die in a grease fire, think turning to the open road would be awesome.

Am I correct in remembering/thinking that Chicago is glorious in autumn?

Wanna take my parents to Wrigley this year and the Braves visit September 20-22 for a weekend series.

Never been to Chicago other than a suburbian truck stop. Wrigley on our bucket list

I thought for sure when I saw the last post was you that it was going to be about how awful Chicago is.

That's a solid guess, but I've softened a little on Chicago. My last trip didn't suck the kind of demon **** I had expected and we went to a few pretty cool, sort of hole in the wall places.

Still contend it would be infinitely better without the people tho, don't see that ever changing.

I don't really disagree but there should just be a rule that we can't have more than X people per square mile anywhere in the US. Leave population crowding to the Euros.

Something awful happens when you shove 3 million people in a town the size of Chicago. Everyone starts hating one another. You go into a little bar or restaurant in Chicago and eat a great meal or watch a cool show and then walk outside to people honking everywhere and just being general ass holes.

Good with the Bad I suppose.

Edit: Had a blast at Headquarters which is an old-school arcade where all the games are free and you just pay for beer/coke/whatever. A great place to kill a few hours in an afternoon as it's not busy at all
