Well, I'm probably as ADD as anyone (not a brag) and understand exactly where you're coming from, but at some point a few years ago I became born again with regards to punctuality because it dawned on me how rude it was to others. Being on time became a priority.
Basically I don't think ADD is a particularly acceptable excuse in this case as it's just a matter of getting in the habit of building in more travel time. It doesn't make me a candidate for sainthood but it does make me slightly less of an inconsiderate *******.
I wasn't intending to use it as an excuse, just explaining why it happens. While it may not be seen as any different, I concede that the result is the same, my point is that when I'm late it's not because I actively think what I'm doing is more important than your time, but rather that I suck at time management and the thought that I need to leave might not occur to me when it's needed for me to be on time. If someone nudged me on the shoulder and said "you need to start leaving now to meet tuq at the scheduled time for dinner. Would you like to do so or keep doing what you're doing?" I'd get up as often as most people. Perhaps more so, I'm actually pretty generous with my time, which itself is a time-management leak.
