Simmons is good on PTI. He knows so much more about sports than Kornheiser/Wilbon and while he resorts to stupid homerism and casual fan stuff in longform articles in short bursts he usually has good takes on what is going on.

If it came down to what *I* wanted, the thread would have been not only left open but stickied; the end of the thread was far more entertaining for me than the beginning. However, it's obviously in the forum's best interests to lock it and move on since it no longer had anything to do with the original subject and I don't want to be held responsible for Needle having an aneurysm if it went on much longer.

why does SE need yet another thread where people snipe each other? If TD and Cardo want to rip each other, take it to the bad poster thread. It seemed clear that they couldn't leave it alone, albeit in a thread that was already ruined.

As noted, there are already an asston of threads which can be dedicated to pointless trolling: this thread; bad p0ster thread, whatever thread they both frequent such as NFC East thread, etc. That was simply another outlet clogging the front page with bile, with no other relevant content in between.

Well every thread does turn into a troll of though, so welcome to SE. The Lounge, thataway.

I mean the Karak/G10 thread was awesome and turned into not so mean spirited trolling and there was no reason to lock it up. A lot of great threads come out of some stupid OP and people messing around for 100 posts.

Nowadays we get a lecture about manners and ****, while anything with the possibility of being fun or interesting is locked up by Agent Needle Van Alden and his crusade for moral forum justice.
