Nice work ut2010, but man, when you broke into Das Boot's apartment to get that picture, what was the first thing you tripped over? Vintage vibrating football game? Bong shaped like a mobius strip? Dominion card game with Christy Mathewson expansion pack? 1/50th scale model of Sydney Opera House executed entirely in Subbuteo and Jenga? Man, I remember arguing with Clark, Dynasty, Mason and 'Ulysses' about 30-60 limit hands from my freshman dorm room. Yes I was that lame. Also, I peaked at limit poker before I was legally allowed to play

Does everyone remember the first Simpsons episode they saw? I still remember the first one I saw was the one where Bart cuts the head off of the statue of Jebediah Springfield.

This was Season 1 I'm pretty sure. I kept hearing about "The Simpsons" at school and didn't know wtf it was. Someone told me it was on Fox Sunday's at 7pm. Back then Fox was still really green. I didn't even know if I had Fox channel. I got home and found out I did and tuned in that Sunday night and was hooked.

Haven't watched an episode in years, maybe over a decade at this point... Bart was like my age when the show came out and I thought "Cool - I'll grow up with Bart!"

3-7 weren't just good; they're arguably GOAT.

they set the standard so high, they were still the best on tv for several years afterward, but people complained, then they started to become merely good and the zomg simpsons suck meme started to spread by family guy fans.

the only thing worse than family guy are those who claim its good.

Simpsons 3-7 are GOAT.
Simpsons 1-2 and 8-9 are still excellent and than the declines and peaks of similar longrunning shows.

Simpsons 10-Infinity are mediocre with the occasional gem, but even the really bad episodes still have a base level of competency that put it closer to say King of Queens than something truly awful like a one season abomination like Outsourced.

Despite this url lying and it not being an oral history, the VF feature about the making of Pulp Fiction is excellent.

My first simpsons memory was the poisonous fish episode, which is weird since it was such an atypical episode.
