Went back and rewatched The Matrix last night. Because of its sequels I think I had forgotten how much fun that movie was.

Been in Vegas drinking/degenning it up over the long weekend.

+$4k Craps Roll starting at 4:45 AM and ending at 6 AM on Saturday night.

Binked off $2k at blackjack while killing time waiting to go to the airport.

Riverman never responded to my request to meet up and given that he hasn't responded to his LVL thread, could be dead. RIP homie.

Bouchon is seriously a 10/10 snap do for brunch for anybody in Vegas. Price is incredibly fair. Chicken/Waffles + Coffee under $40 after tax and tip. Sounds steep until you realize you'd be spending $30 for somewhere like Grand Lux or the like.

Had a disappointing meal at Mesa Grill, first of my life there in like 8 meals between Caesar's and Atlantis. Will go again but less eager to go.

Centra at Caesar's had a surprisingly good lamb shank, friends were impressed with their meals as well. Wouldn't set huge plans to go there, but not a bad option if you're at Caesar's and want to ad lib a dinner.

Cosmopolitan secret pizza place is pretty solid.

FREEEEEEST MONEY of the weekend was on NBA All-Star game 1h u149.5.

What did I miss in SE land?

So I just got a $50 summons for lying down on the NYC subway, homeless person style. It was 2:50 am and there were no more than 5 other people in the car, so I wasn't taking up anyone's space. Never mind the fact that hundreds of times I've seen homeless people lying down, taking up 4 seats on a crowded train in the middle of the day, and I don't think I've ever seen as much as a cop tell the guy to get up.

I mean jesus ****ing christ, would it kill the cop to say, hey buddy, you're not allowed to lie down, I don't want to have to give you a ticket. Instead he pulls me off the train to give me the ticket, causing me to miss the train I was on. Thankfully another train comes right away. I was about 15 seconds from missing that one, which probably would have led to about a 20 minute wait, or else I would have really lost my ****.

Lesson learned I guess, I won't lie down on the subway again. But seriously, was that really necessary? Am I wrong, or am I just an *******? I mean the cop gave me some spiel about how when someone does this, they need to call the cop and stop the train. So the train was delayed like 90 seconds. I get a ticket and everyone else gets their trip delayed. Somehow that makes more sense than "hey, get up" and have everyone go on their way. **** tha police

Yeah, I'm awake and no longer drunk. I still think it was some epic run bad. I don't think I've ever lied down like that but the train was so empty, thought I might as well. I would understand more if I was like passed out and the cops needed to wake me up, or I was giving them a hard time, or if I had soiled myself, etc. But I was awake and insta-popped up the second they told me to and was very cooperative. The cop even said as he was writing the ticket that he knew it was BS, and as long as you haven't been in trouble, it should get thrown out. If that's the case though, why give out the ticket in the first place?

Oh well, I'll live. Just thought I'd give a heads up to my fellow NYC homies. It's dangerous out there, cops are cracking down, be safe.

quotas ftl - someone higher up decided this was an issue, even though lol at issuing summonses to homeless people

still why would you lie down, seems like it'd be real easy to fall asleep and miss your stop

NYC runs a policy that focuses strongly on minor crime because they believe it leads to more serious crime, for better or for worse. Still sucks though.

yeah I mean it was FPS, I saw all the extra room so thought why not. And I'm not advocating they give summonses to homeless people. I don't even really care when they do lie down and take up a bunch of space. Not gonna pile on the homeless people. I just think in my experience, homeless people often get away with pulling that move, which gave me the impression that the cops wouldn't really give a **** if I did it. If I saw cops telling homeless people to get up more often, I wouldn't have done it

You gotta master the art of the sitting-straight-up power nap on mass transit. Really pro move for people like me with a ~1 hour commute each way.

broken windows itt.

has no actual link to major crimes though. in fact I think an emphasis on minor crimes if anything has an inverse correlation to major ones

Haven't followed this thread for a few days but remembered this post. Mostly I want to point out that if you have Amazon Instant Video capability via your TV, XBox, PC, Roku, etc., you can rent a lot of new releases from them. You have "48 hours" to watch, however that clock actually doesn't start ticking until you start watching the film. It appears they give you ~a month. So that's a nice option, and the delivery was solid.

Movie itself was a bit of a letdown - the ending was completely ridiculous for one thing, and there were too many other minor gripes. Not sure I can recommend it, although it is probably worth the cost of Redboxing just for the preposterously hot naked broad from the opening scene.
