Man, totally forgot it is Ash Wednesday. With yesterday being Fat Tuesday I should remember but I'm a badly lapsed Catholic. Thanks for the reminder, it no doubt would have taken me awhile to figure out on my own.

Politarding here has been of a pretty high standard thus far. Politics in SE is more like discussing politics with smart friends irl (borrowing NLSoldier's analogy); politics in Politics seems more like debating with those douchy kids from government class. There's like a baseline level of rationality and commonality in worldview here.

eta: main point meant to highlight the merits of discussions here rather than dumping on Politics which I don't know as much about.

My boss got a FedEx package of some clothes he ordered that had a ton of white powder in it a little bit ago. Both FedEx and the shipping store told him to call the cops. Gonna be an interesting afternoon. Hopefully we're all safe, but I am kinda rooting for it to be something more than something like sugar or flour.

If the 2nd place guy finishes with $26k after guessing incorrectly on a $7k wager, that has to mean he was well within range to catch Leonard at $40k, right?

Would've been hilarious if 2nd place got Eisenhower correct and Leonard loses needlessly by $1k or something because he refused to answer in favour of a figurative touchdown dance instead, lol.

It reminds me of why I hate debating things with law students / lawyers. Everything to them is a two-sided argument and their goal is to win their side, irrespective of what's true or real.

Cops evacuated us. 11 firemen here. Hazmat on way. Homeland security has been contacted. I just asked a fireman what his tale was and he said it happens semi regularly but 9.9 times out of 10 it's nothing but homeland security runs the protocols so they mandate the crazy amount of attention.

I think "lawyers and law students who want to practice law" would be closer to accurate. Law students who want to go into academia, marketing, consulting, etc. tend to benefit more from listening to people and being more nuanced, IMO.

But, yeah, the game of zero-sum competitive opinion is exhausting.

It was. From what I can gather in that clip, Indian kid had the lead after day 1 with $19k or so and had $14k in day 2 before Final Jeopardy.

How do I upload pics from phone easily? Before cops were called my boss called the store and FedEx and they were gonna come pick up package. FedEx guy just showed up and is now being told to stay and stay away from everyone else like my boss is.
