Looks like the 15 posts after this one will be "Who can make the best Wire-related quip to Needle's question?"

I've spent a lot of time in Jersey and am fairly familiar with all but the northern 1/3 of the state

There's a lot of diversity there but in the end it's just too compact for my taste

Plus I hate full service gas stations

Also, jersey weather sucks just as much as midwest weather

I've lived in Western NC, WV, SC, Coastal NC, PA, and NJ. PA and WV sucked. Asheville NC is maybe my favorite place in the world...except it's too far from the water. I loved Myrtle for my age but seriously...its not a place past the age of like 28.

Anyway, I have my personal negatives of NJ(I live in north NJ). And a lot of is that I ****ING HATE SNOW. But really, plenty of beautiful places and will always love the area. So much to do, and NYC was always a 30 minute ride away. I'll be happy and sad the day I finally say **** off to this state.

Edit: And the crowdedness I get but really never have felt it too much(well I guess the rush hours ****ing suck but knowing all the back roads helps tremendously). Whats funny is that whenever I go to Baltimore area or Washington DC area, I always hate how crowded it is. No idea why I feel its different down there than here.

The problem is all those rural people and their views on things tarnish all the cities with similar inhabitants, with the exception of non-southside Chicago.

What part of WV and PA?

Anywhere more than an hour away from either Pittsburgh or philly is awful. But both cities are quality imo.

WV is greasy, no doubt about it. But it holds a soft spot in my heart because I spent a few years degening it up at their casinos

I lived in Martinsburg in WV and I went to college at Kutztown which is about an hour north of Philly. So I had my good times there. And have spent a number of days in Philly as well. I don't hate PA...but I'm never moving back.

Gotcha.

Kutztown isn't too far away from jersey, and as a result isn't that much different from nw jersey/ne PA

The biggest problem with PA is the bible thumpers and slovenly beaucrats that come from the middle of the state. Harrisburg and State College epitomize this. It really gives Pittsburgh and Philly a bad rap

The greater pittsburgh region includes the nothern panhandle of wv, and to an extent morgantown. You'll find a lot of dirty and greasy towns, but you don't get the bible thumping aids from central PA or the mountain hillbilly presence from Southern and Eastern WV

Atlanta is only awesome if you swing everything perfect and optimal,.including probably the most important thing which would be somehow not commuting

Thought about those. I could be open to discussion wrt Atlanta and perhaps a Carolina city or two, tho the over-the-top redneck Red State factor could be a deal killer for most rational people.

Asheville is very far from redneck Red State imo. Problem is its all the way in the mountains out west.

Edit: I've had amazing times in Raleigh and Charlotte too. Wilmington NC is also a great city. My Parents live in the beaches part. I always enjoy going into the area.

I've always enjoyed the Carolinas, but was always on vacation. Seems too small to live in, but I can see how it could be ok for someone who likes small cities.
