I have a theory.

Someone whose team is still alive in the worst SE fanbase contest wanted to make sure his team (not the Steelers) didn't win, so he devised a plan to rig it for the Steelers. He begged/bribed Needle to open up that trollbait thread, and started posting in it with the Beeschnuts/Cornbread Earl gimmicks. Thus, diverting negative attention away from their team and towards the Steelers. A "rape herring," if you will.

No...I got a handful of PMs from two or three about the thread. I was wrong when I thought it could be intelligent discussion now that enough time has passed. One of my major faults in my life is that I am far to trusting. I allowed it to get the best of me. I apologize...the thread will remain closed and will likely never be opened again unless Rivers wins a rang. Then we can all have a lot of fun with it.

As far as the thread, you know me man, I have to be consistent. I don't like the hateful threads. I rather them never be allowed but I'm the only one that feels that way. I just want my voice to be heard on the matter and allow it to die. It had nothing to do with the thread creator.

If Rivers wins a rang, the trolling that would go on is glorious. If Eli gets number two, I'm going to have to insist that you reopen it as well. When you're equal in RANGZZZ, I believe least rapes committed is the tiebreaker

I do think Eli vs. Rape is actually a pretty interesting argument, but of course the thread devolves into Rivers vs. Rape which is just lol.

I've always maintained Rivers >> Eli/Rape in that thread and I've been pretty consistent with it. I will argue that Eli is better than Rape ldo but it is marginal either way. People forget Rape has sucked every other year of his career.

The fact that adgi or whatever his name is trolls that statement is perfect evidence of his suck. I mean if you are attempting to call someone out for saying Eli > Ben (marginally) and you think Big Ben >> Rivers, you are the one who breathes from mouth.*

*If someone wants to say Big Ben > Eli I'm not even going to argue about it. It's a perfectly reasonable sentiment. The entire point of that thread is that Rivers is clearly better than both of them.

I think unlocking the thread was an attempt by Needle to sabotage the Most Annoying Fanbase competition. He figured once anyone read/remembered that thread every post would only contain the word 'STEELERS.'
