not me

Nope, 4 star system for me, but that said the only 2012 movies I have over 3 stars are Moonrise Kingdom and an animated movie called It's Such A Beautiful Day, neither one of which are movies I would recommend to most of my buddies

I don't even click on a Netflix movie if at least 3 stars aren't completely filled. A 3 star system would really cut down my movie watching.

should be out of 5, or 10 ... or 100 even. or why not ONE MILLION!?

just never been a fan of the 4 star system, would prefer something a little more precise...

You can always do the video game rating system where everything is between 80-100

you gotta rate movies on both the 4 and the 5 star scales at the same time. 4/4 and 5/5 don't mean the same things, despite what the maths say. star resolution imo

My Scale:
0 — I didn't enjoy it enough
1 — I enjoyed it enough
2 — I enjoyed it a ridiculous amount

Maybe about 5-10% of shows/movies I watch get a 2. The most recent to was Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Outside of review aggregation like RT's, or the evaluation of a limited pool of movies (e.g., all of a single director's movies), grades and ratings have never struck me as important. If I'm reading an individual poster or blogger's reviews, the only distinctions I need are between "highly recommend," "recommend," and "wouldn't recommend." And drawing a distinction between 8/10 and 8.5/10 or whatever is kind of like a solipsistic, compactified form of the type of "critical" conversation limited to insights like "X is better than Y" and "No, Y is totally better than X."
