STP and Sarah Michelle Gellar? SIGN ME UP.

Apparently Weiland's girl wanted to be on set the entire time and was mad jealous of SMG.

My favorite STP song may be Pretty Penny, though. It reminds me of Super Mario Bros. 2 for some reason.

BYOB was definitely the most obnoxious anti-Iraqi/Afghanistani war song

They had 2 good albums released the same year somewhere around the mid2000s I think. Serj has also released 2 solo albums, and Malakian had a project called Scars on Broadway.

Also gotta have about the weirdest sense of humor of any musicians ever.

Still blows my mind that "It's Gonna Be a Long Night" was used, without irony, in an episode of The Shield.
Um, lolshield indeed. I saw them at 2 festivals also, much better in a venue on their own, as most bands would be.

Basically, if you see that clip of bill Hicks railing on non druggy post 70s music and are like "hell yeah", then that's a bummer man.
I would never say that any music past a certain date automatically sucks, but the only clip I can think of is one where he's making fun of Rick Astley, Tiffany, etc. who were to be fair kind of lol-worthy 80s pop stars.

Radiohead themselves fall into this latter group, fwiw.

I would make a list of my favorite 90s albums but I have a weird time differentiating between "the mainstream stuff I listened to in the 90s" and "the indie stuff I picked up later and really like". Especially with bands like Wilco and Radiohead who should fall into the latter except that I was really into them at the time, too.

ween is like the perfect band for 2p2ers to like, not sure why there aren't more dean and gene ween fans up in here.

I know music is totally subjective, but damn it people, get on my level here.

Weird, I was a pretty big math nerd but never felt this translate to an appreciation of music. When I was in 8th grade somebody asked me what sort of music I like and I couldn't answer- didn't have a favorite band or genre or anything. Some songs I liked and others I didn't, but that was the extent of it.

I agree if I sought out an enhanced appreciation of music I could find a way to enjoy the Beatles. But then I may stop appreciating Ke$ha and I don't want to live in a world where that's the case.

I gained a lot of respect for Eddie Vedder after watching him stagger around the stage with a bottle of wine for 2 hours at Jazz Fest while still giving a great show.

Fishy thinking imo. If you develop taste and don't like Ke$ha anymore, she wasn't that good to begin with. Plays right into the metaphors I was using earlier. "I don't want to try steak because then I'm afraid I won't like Hamburger Helper anymore."

Massive LOL @ pretending you hate this song:

There's literally nothing hateworthy about it. And it makes chicks' panties drop.

I don't hate that Radiohead song that PHB linked. I doubt I'd listen to it regularly but it is def superior to most Beatles tracks I've heard.

I agree, I was being facetious.

Real answer is that music isn't high enough on the list of topics where I desire a sharp perception such that I'll invest time in accomplishing that.
