Mellon Collie has some great songs but as an album it's a disjointed mess. Siamese Dream is significantly better as a whole. Same issue (to a lesser extent) with Suburbs vs. Funeral.

The final statement needs no explanation as truth speaks for itself.

Both those cds have more songs I like than the others, which takes priority to me over track order and other factors.

Some others that may have made the list would be Soundgarden Superunknown, The Verve Urban Hymns, Metallica Black, No Doubt's big CD, Green Day Dookie, etc. Pretty obvious I went to high school from 1993-1997.

Not a huge music buff and once I discovered Zeppelin at like age 20 in college everything else sounded like **** to me.

COME AT ME
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
The Allman Brothers Band - Live at Ludlow Garage
Peter Tosh - Equal Rights
Nomeansno - 0+2=1
Nomeansno - Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy?
Fugazi - In on the Kill Taker
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan

Yes, I'm old (older than you).

Siamese Dream is definitely better than Mellon Collie.

Good one, I still listen to Badfish a good bit. Something haunting about someone writing a song about an addiction that is probably going to kill them and then dying from said addition.

I much prefer the sound of Dylan electric (Highway 61, Nashville Skyline, etc), but the story told by the lyrics has never been better than in Freewheelin' played acoustic. FWIW, 'The Times They Are A-Changin' almost made the list as well.

No better storyteller than Dylan....Willie might be the closest.

HEY HEY MAMA SAID THE WAY YOU MOVE GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT GONNA MAKE YOU GROOVE-OOVE has to be in contention.

I didn't know this was a thing (a "cold opening") but I wonder what the top 10 would look like.

That particular version of Machine Gun may be the best version of a song he played.

That's pretty good also. I have never heard it called "cold opening" but it seemed like a good way to describe what I meant. Would weezer's buddy holly count also? That's a pretty good example imo.

Also pretty happy certain posters aren't here anymore to turn this into a top ten Ke$ha song discussion.
