on the other topic, just turned 34, wifer just turned 33, and we're only now getting around to discussing children.

50 with a teenager will probably suck, but i'm not quite ready to give up my free time yet. it's sorta like what the government is doing now: knowing you'll be ****ed later but not caring because right now is still good.

I think part of the rules are that if you get trainwrecked, you can have it deleted, but you'll be banned

Yeah, but it's at least a month ban if you request deletion. OOT rules are ridiculously ******ed. Also have no idea why WVU is being banned. That makes no sense.

As opposed to PoG where you just PM the mods to get anything deleted that you find embarrasing

no, but doing so increases the risk of down syndrome, birth defects, and all kinds of mental handicaps by multiples.

It also increases your chances of birthing a super-genius.

I enjoy how "numerous tips" helped identify him

I assume that there were a dozen people in the community who, without even seeing the video, were just like, "yeah, 90% chance that was amichele's brother"

joe schmo was pretty funny. will definitely keep watching.

the elimination scene was great, especially him interacting with the llama. i also like the subtle note of putting the interpreter in the fountain lolol.

Was thinking that as I read all the "having kids at 50+" comments. That seems to be the popular trend among certain demographics. Walking around DC you see a lot of white-haired parents pushing around strollers these days.

Anyway, there have been a bunch of studies on the risk of defects/disorders, but it doesn't seem like a reliable risk factor has been confirmed yet and it's still relatively low (like 1% increased risk according to this article).

I don't really get the population control argument. If you only have one child, then you're still coming in under replacement level and not adding to the overall population. That was probably a joke though, so nevermind.

Why make jokes when you're one?

The numbers I have read are huge multiples (like 5-20x as high for many genetic diseases) for parents above age 35-45 (age varied in different studies). It also seems that a lot of doctors are recommending that men go the route of storing their semen and women storing eggs at some age under 30 if they plan on having kids later. I am curious as to why more people don't so this already due to the lower rates of genetic problems in children born to older parents.

Autism has also been linked with older fathers. The recent study I read said there was a connection between gene mutations and autism, which generally come from the father, and as he gets older the mutations get worse.

Worth noting since autism rates are going up like crazy.
