4 daughters and no sons is the nut low for 30-40 years of your life depending on how you space them and when they get married. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

would anybody here consider not having kids? i can't decide if it's an ELITE strategy or a good way to be bored like **** when you're old.

Half my motivation for wanting to have a son was to coach his midget football team

We've talked a lot about it. Problem is I'd already be the 50 year old at my kids graduation if I knocked her up now. Either gonna do within next year or two just do a few great vacations a year instead.

Right now I think we're leaning towards not doing it.

Pretty sure you shouldn't have kids if you want them playing football.

Yeah Chim have a kid in your early-mid 30s isn't weird. You have time for a few more years of nice vacations.

We had one friend who had a 50+ parent at HS graduation, and it seemed crazy. Demo has probably changed too, as I think many are waiting to have kids.

Maybe I'm mistaken and its more normal. Seems totally out of the norm to me.

unusual for it to be your first kid but definitely not uncommon overall

not at all abnormal if you send your kid to a private or boarding school or live in a really nice area. however, if you dont you gotta remember that there are tons of idiot 16-25 year olds out there procreating at faster speeds and their idiot children will be in class with your kid.

Always find it tough to talk about having kids (pros/cons) with people who don't have kids (prolly bc a lot of the stuff you'd say is said by everyone and it sounds really cheesy if you don't have kids).

There is definitely nothing wrong with not having kids. Id say enjoy your free time until/if you decide you want to start a family.

Just whatever you do if you choose not to have kids dont get a dog with your gf/wife and proceed to act like it is your child (and how hard it is) because everyone with kids will hate talking to you. A lot.

I'd never consider not having kids. Pretty sure I'd be far more bored and less happy, plus no kids also leaves me massively reliant on my spouse for companionship when I'm old. Depends on individual psychology though I guess. Also interested in seeing my genes stay in the mix.

Likely to wait until early 30s or something, though.

It's definitely changed. I'm 28 and the vast majority of my friends from hs and college don't have kids yet. Only one person id call a good friend from college has a baby.

I definitely want kids, just not right now. Kids are pretty elite and there are a lot of fun opportunities that they bring.

Not having kids

Pro: The world is overpopulated so I'm doing my part to help.

Con: My elite genes will disappear from the gene pool.
