Wouldn't allow him to play. Doubt he'd want to play anyways though. If all my kids aren't playing soccer I'll consider myself a failure as a parent.

eta: only applies to organized football, doesn't apply to being a kicker which I'd encourage due to mentioned market gap.

i wouldn't mind. i played football briefly but didn't really have the killer instinct to thrive, i was just there to chill with my bros and WIL it up. i imagine any hypothetical kids of mine would be the same.

i think organized football is kinda boring anyway. the best was when we'd get a 5 on 5 pickup game of tackle football in high school.

I would definitely let me kid play whatever sport they wanted to. I would only encourage that they play at least some sport through middle school at least and try out multiple sports when they are younger. If they stick with any of them beyond that then thats up to them.

I'm glad I got into watching soccer post playing football so it should be easier to steer my hypothetical heir in that direction.

Also a good hedge for when I end up with 4 daughters and no sons.
