I rewatched the Batman trilogy on Christmas day (lol family).
Some things I wanted to share.
-Which of Batman Begins or the Dark Knight is better is a toss up. Something Batman Begins does better is the city of Gotham is more of a character. The rail system, Arkham Asylum, The Narrows, Wayne Manor...better feel to them than TDK where I could imagine that being any big American city.
The Dark Knight has better character interaction by far. Rachel, Harvey, Bruce, Alfred, Lucius...really do better jobs and have more interesting scenes together. The Joker is still the highlight of the film and obviously Ledgar was just GOATing it up the entire time.
The pacing and the way every scene transitions into the next is really brilliant. Both films really excel at this. The first hour of both movies are just so amazing and they hook you at the right spots brilliantly in both.
If I had to call it I'd say TDK>BB by a slight margin simply because the Joker made every unexpected twist and turn amazing in a way that felt more natural than Ra's Al Ghul just showing up since Joker's presence was felt through the movie.
-I liked the Dark Knight Rises the most during my 3rd viewing. Lot of the flaws of been gone over itt. They botched the reaction to Batman returning, should have been more epic. The first half of the movie was amazing and on par with with BB/TDK but the ending just felt weird.
Bane was really cool. He was the 2nd best villain in the series. I really enjoyed the prison pit aspect more on a second viewing as it's pretty ****ing epic. I guess the city being controlled by warlords was neat but I didn't like the execution of it. They have involved Miranda Tate much more as her big moment faltered as I lacked commitment to the character. The chanting music was awesome. Really just an all around great movie with a few flaws that held it back.
Yeah.
Joffrey sighting in Batman Begins was pretty epic too.
