can someone explain to me why making on topic, but not mainstream headline related points is frowned upon even when concern, sadness, and empathy are expressed elsewhere by the same person?

'it's all there' is the showrunner equivalent of 'we're just taking it one game at a time'
if Sepinwall is right, why did he have to alter the quote to make it fit his POV? I don't think it matters much either way, but Alan's views on the ending always read like someone who made up his mind when the show aired and doesn't want to reconsider.

Chase has always been inscrutable in interviews and has shown contempt for a lot of The Sopranos audience the idea that he would give some secret clue in an interview seems out of character.
I would agree with this.

People get hung up on "what happened". I always just loved how the ending of Tony Soprano's story was presented to the audience.

well yeah, but so has the guy with the 20k work essay about it, ldo

in any case, yeah i'm not sure why so many ppl seem to be hung up about the ending, it's better without a definitive one imo

i think part of what makes the video so good is that he picked the single most AIDS infested thread imaginable and the single worst forum imaginable for the illustrations

agree and I feel comfortable saying this even though I dont think I have ever opened the Amanda Know thread and my whole exposure to the story is the title being on the front page of OOT for way too long.

Of course he made up his mind when the show aired. Who doesn't do that? Okay so the Sopranos had a lot of dreams and I don't know how to parse all of them, but in 'waking life' did the Sopranos ever play around with flash forwards, or deliberately misleading the audience into thinking something had happened when it hadn't? No. My feelings may change about how a lot of things relate on the show, but most of the action of the show happened on screen, and was easy to interpret - why should that change for the final scene?

Pretty indifferent to Julie the crazy Mormon but her trying to kill Veronica by unhooking her harness was legendary and belongs on the list if not higher.

probably to have people still discussing what 2 minutes of a television show meant 5 years after it aired
