Got a 7 foot tree from Home Depot for $16 this year. Went on black friday and it was some promo they had. It wasn't crowded at all, either. We were in and out in probably less than 10 minutes.

To be a real man you have to cut your own tree.

Cutting down your own tree is awesome, but it really isn't an option for me anymore after moving to the city from a suburb. It'd be at least an hour drive, probably more to get to a tree farm.

Good luck finding a pine in Texas and not getting shot while trying to chop it down.

How do you find the time to cut your own tree down, Krayz, when you must have 8 or 9 kids at home?

I like to joke that my wife (a clinical child neuropsychologist) will mess up our kids more than anyone.

Probably not true though.

I'd take a random New Yorker's opinion on pizza over a random non-New Yorker's opinion all day.

Speaking of pizza blasphemy. Has anyone ever had Pide, it's a type of Turkish Pizza, i was told there was a really good place by me, but didn't believe it until I actually went. Here is an example of what one looks like

pizza should not be made to look like an ark

that is all

So you throw the kids in the car and sing carols and be happy together and drive an hour and cut a tree. For me that was one of my favorite things about xmas.

agreed. there are tons more opportunities to seek help out there and the culture is more accepting of people who have had troubles in the past.

I went to Twin Peaks during MNF for the first time. kinda interesting, but the waitresses were super annoying with how often they asked if you wanted another beer and how they pitched it as the coldest beer anywhere. I am fully aware of how to order so I don't really need to be pestered about getting a beer. I was waiting for friends for 20 min and she asked no fewer than 6 or 7 times if I was ready for a beer yet despite me replying that I would have a water and order when my friends arrived. also had a large portion of very tatted up and trashy looking 30ish year old waitresses. I was expecting a hotter, younger group for some reason.

We have some exciting news.

Today, we're proud to announce that the Localmind team is now part of Airbnb!

We love Localmind's product - a platform that lets users crowdsource wisdom about what's happening on the local scene in real time. Even more than that, we think the Localmind team (Lenny Rachitsky, Beau Haugh, and Nelson Gauthier) is frankly awesome.

So this acquisition means that everything related to Localmind - including technology, intellectual property, product, and (of course!) the Localmind team - are now part of Airbnb.

This was always meant to be. Localmind's mission centers on using online technologies to connect people offline. At its core, that's what Airbnb does.

We were also impressed by the world-class talent at Localmind. We feel that the caliber of Localmind's engineers and producers reinforces the world-class team we're building here.

The unification is already bearing fruit. The Localmind product team is integrating new social initiatives into the Airbnb experience. It's just what our passionate global community has been asking for.

We believe that the results of this acquisition will mean more authentic, more local experiences for our traveling community - and our hosts as well!
Ugh ugh ugh

I really hate marketing and company bull****, but San Francisco 'start up culture' company bull**** is definitely the worst. Am I the only one who finds some of these sentences nauseating?
