What are you protecting it from, tho? I've had iPhones site the original. I travel a lot, drop them occasionally, but I've never broken one. In fact my original one still works. The back is dented in a couple of places and there's a few scratches on the screen but who cares?

I use a hard plastic case with a fold out stand for my RAZR that's maybe 1.5mm thick. I use a separate, thin screen protector to prevent scratches since it's a touchscreen and having that thrown off by a key scratch is a bitch.
There is a huge downside to screen covers. They get cloudy and oily and greasy.
Cases are meh in general, I just think people way overestimate the fragility of phones and overestimate the protective quality of cases. I mean yeah some of the hard plastic ones add minimal bulk (my wife has an incase snap on her 4s) but they also don't add much if any robustness.
Living on the eastern part of the central time zone ****ing sucks. It gets dark at 4:30 this time of the year. If I was on the west side of the eastern time zone I'd probably have time to squeeze in 9 after work.
