Hi. Enjoy your holiday, and don't send everyone in your phone a mass text telling them to enjoy yours. Bulk messages are lame. Thanks.

My extended family basically sucks, so my brother and I are now using work as a weak excuse to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with just us and my parents, so we can get as drunk as we want without worrying about how the extended family will react to our shenanigans.

I played soccer for 13 years as a kid. I have no idea what the hell happened here? Can someone explain.

1) player on red team is injured

2) player on yellow team intentionally kicks ball out of play so that injured guy can get physio attention

3) red team puts ball in play and immediately kicks it back to yellow team's goalkeeper, as is customary

4) red team accidentally score from that

5) red team let yellow team score so as to wipe out the unintentional goal

here is an example from yesterday's champions league action in which some similar weirdness happens (start at 0:35)

In football it's customary to kick the ball out of bounds when there is an injured player. There's no specific rule - the officials cannot stop play. In this case, the kick out of bounds ended up being a goal - a truly bizarre occurrence!

in order to compensate, they let the other team score, so the damage was equalized.

tbh, it doesnt make much sense to me, in the sense of the other team actually "evens it up." I mean, its pro sports, if your opponent makes a mistake, you shouldnt even it out imo.

person who made the mistake was the bloke on the red team that scored with his long kick

he's supposed to kick that out of bounds behind the goal

Also, happy thanksgiving everyone! Non Americans should just adopt the holiday, since its pretty sweet. I mean thats why we celebrate cinco de mayo i think, its a fun time and an excuse to drink a ton of tequilla.

My roommates grandmother is a fantastic cook, and ends up giving us tons of leftovers, so its certainly worth the hour drive. She not only does the fundamentals well like turkey, stuffing, etc, but she also makes 6-8 different homemade pies. Im looking forward to the yams the most and feel like they are criminally under rated, based on the lack of love they seemed to get itt when the subject of good thanksgiving food was breached.

Cinco de Mayo isn't celebrated in Mexico save for one region. It's just a holiday we more or less made up because we're America and if we think you don't have enough holidays we'll just make on up for you then get drunk on it.

Paging dkgo for my drunk borderline racism story

Last night apparently I tried talking to some Asian girls at this bar and they weren't having it so I spoke "Mandarin" to them aka went bong bong bing bong.

Later I was getting a slice of pizza and while in line we started talking to these Asian girls behind us and I kept calling them Lucy. They were confused and told me their names weren't Lucy and I was like yes it is, Lucy Liu! They were not pleased.
