When you kill someone with a knife it's much more personal.

Appreciate the thoughts and ideas guys. Already submitted an itemized list to insurance, found way more receipts and proof of purchases than I thought I would. Sent them a **** ton of pictures of the damage and scanned in sales records from stores for the past however long.

Were going in at 10 am est to discuss with management today about it. Were currently staying at her parents house, and idk for how long. We took a short video too of the aftermath but I'm struggling to find a way to get it online bc of the size of the file and was unable to email the vid and probably post it here too if I can get it on YouTube.

As far as guns though, I'm not comfortable owning one and even after this will not. Plus it's an item I'd be terrified of having stolen, which would not help mentally.

So, im gonna have to pass on the weapon for now. I did find serial numbers for some of the items as well, so while a longshot, fingers are crossed.

Currently googling on whether this let's us break our lease w/o penalty but it's not looking good. Any lawyers with advice? Police report is already done.

fwiw the cop was confident the crooks had been going to other apartments in our complex as well bc another tenant he talked to mentioned finding the same type of paint chips below his lock from someone likely jimmying their lock, but somehow couldn't get into their apartment.

Sigh

In all this mess tonight I even forgot to submit my swami picks

Siiiiiigh

Erv,

Sorry to hear you got robbed, I've been there before and I know how horrible of a feeling it is. I sold my house and moved ASAP after it happened, my wife just didn't feel safe there anymore. Hope you can get out of your lease.

Don't hold your breath on justice though, the system is useless when it comes to this type of crime. They caught the person that sold some of my stuff at a pawn shop and the prosecutor declined to prosecute. Nothing else was done.

I just hope nothing irreplaceable was stolen. All that electronics is just stuff that the insurance money will pay for, you won't miss it.

Not sure if this would have helped in the situation, but living above the first floor >>>>>>>>>>>>>> living on the first floor, imo. Its a pain in the ass to move in, but well worth it for security purposes.
