Duck is elite though as long as it supplements the turkey rather than replacing it

3) NFL Draft (at least when it was all day Saturday)
4) Super Bowl Sunday
5) New Year's Eve/Day

The one holiday with actual nice weather to enjoy: go swimming, boating, play golf, whatever. Grill stuff. Yell "MURICA" a bunch. Grill more stuff. Drink all day, and then blow **** up later for good measure.

1. Independence Day
2. Thanksgiving
3. Christmas
exactly. 4th of july is elite, and if it isn't you're doing it ****ing wrong. golf on the 3rd, golf on the 5th, the 4th you wake up, start drinking, go swimming, grill out for hours and continue drinking, then light off explosives with impunity.

best day of the year AINEC.

Turkey is an extremely mediocre meat, just dry and bland the vast majority of the time when roasted whole like most people do for Thanksgiving. Adding a ham to Thanksgiving dinner is a must

its great when cooked properly, of course most people **** it up but even then if you capture the dark meat you're ok

I hate golf and I live somewhere I can go outside more than two months out of the year so none of what you or schu said really applies.

Well any meat is mediocre if you cook it wrong. That said, I do like having a second meat option at Thanksgiving, or, truthfully, as many food options as possible. We had a GOAT-level potluck in 2008:

-Chili
-Sausage and cheese
-Veal bratwurst
-Oysters on the half shell
-Red bean cakes with tomato chutney
-Lamb cakes with mint yogurt
-Butternut squash soup
-Turkey
-Ham
-Two kinds of stuffing
-Sweet potatoes (with pecans and sauce)
-Salad
-Green beans
-Asparagus
-Mashed potatoes
-Corn
-Unidentified potato casserole
-Bread pudding (and bourbon sauce)
-Five pecan pies
-Apple pie
-Unidentified pie
-Lemon bars
-tons of wine and liquor

Yeah, some of those are pretty out there, but we had more than enough of the Thanksgiving staples. It was a pretty diverse crew (including my friend's dad in a GOAT weekend performance that included being drunk the whole time and picking up a 19-year-old on the flight from New York to Houston).
