Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Election Butthurt Discussion

1. Thanksgiving
2. Christmas
3. Who cares

Thanksgiving is great because it doesn't have the religious overtones, and for me personally, I've had lots of thanksgivings with just random friends/people who were important in my life at the time. It doesn't have that "only with your family" thing that Christmas does imo. It's just about honestly being grateful for things, including friends and family, and sharing good food and good times. Love it.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Election Butthurt Discussion

Thanksgiving has it all.

1. Socially acceptable to drink all day
2. Socially acceptable to eat 6000 calories
3. Get to hang out with family
4. Tons of kids around, and kids are cute
5. Football - this is crucial if you get stuck with an annoying distant relative

Do you have a kid Riverman?

What age will you allow he/she to place free money bets?

Thanksgiving is also great for the mouthbreather family members who watch 4 NFL games all year but insist they know everything.

I think you mean to ask when he/she will realize they have the power to see the future.

Scholarship offer. Also, I really enjoyed my visit here when I was in high school. I didnt get any in state scholarship offers, otherwise I likely would have just stayed closer to home.

I guess that makes sense, but you can understand my confusion.

Didn't MLB fight having **** on YouTube for years? If their channel is a recent addition, no **** it has infinitely less views than the NBA.

MLB is soooooooooo unbelievably archaic with media/advertising rules. the entire league makes money in spite of itself

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Holiday Discussion

MLB hosts all their content on MLB.com and actively fights anything being on Youtube. I consume a lot of MLB content and would never go to Youtube for it. MLB.com has everything you need, and they actually do a pretty good job, even if their interface can be a little clunky.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Holiday Discussion

nba channel was formed approximately 1 month before the MLB one, but I doubt that accounts for the ~950 million views difference

by the way, I made the original post because I tried to find some game 6 2011 WS highlights on youtube. that obviously failed because of their anti-youtube policy, so I tried searching mlb.com, and once again failed

its possible that I might be able to pay a monthly subscription to mlb for their archive, but like 99.99% of all young sports fans, i'm not prepared to do that.

it's funny, MLB were so far ahead of the game on this sort of stuff. I bought an mlb.tv subscription in 2002, I think it was the first year it was available, and it was absolutely awesome for its time.

they ****ed it all up.

edit: its possible that I just didn't search their site hard enough. whatever, i found some labron highlights on youtube instead.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Holiday Discussion

google result for "2011 world series game 6 highlights"

http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?co...ic_id=25588896

enjoy

one big flaw is that it's easier to search MLB's archives with google than it is with the MLB site itself, which is a fair criticism
