it's not just the president's call. Fighting drugs employs a ton of people. Lots and lots of spending. And frankly, Obama the social liberal is pretty underwhelming. I think people projected a lot of beliefs onto him that aren't necessarily true. There's no evidence he's just going to reverse the huge surge in domestic drug raids. I think he's bought into drugs are bad mmkay.

I mean if he does, that's great. I just don't see it. It's wishful thinking.

read something interesting somewhere today. GJ is apparently all gung ho to run again in 2016. Obv has not shot. But I bet he has a shot at a NM senate seat. Couldn't he do more as an elected senator than a no-shot candidate?

it'd be interesting to go from a minority pres who carries a historically large % of the minority vote to a minority candidate who carries a historically low %.

Yes, it's what I wish every Libertarian candidate would do. Go where you can be most effective.

If there's any justice in the universe Romney will come out and announce that nothing is over and he'll fight to get every last vote counted.

My Facebook newsfeed is making me very queasy tonight. Unbridled optimism, just like 2008, except the dude who just got re-elected kinda has a track record since then, and it's not pretty. I just don't get the hype.

ldo I want Obama to turn things around but what should make anyone feel confident that these next four years will be any different? I'm not saying Romney was clearly the better option (if at all), but Christ, tonight feels like a crowd storming the field after a first down in the 4th quarter when you're losing by 4 TD's.

I'm very happy the right-of-centre option up here isn't bound to religious fanaticism and does a pretty damn good job of keeping its focus on cutting red tape and keeping the economy strong.

you would think so

but then again, and excuse my ignorance here, but what has Harry Reid done for poker, etc? Dem Senate maj leader from Nevada, you would figure he could do something, but...he just not want to get involved or something?

i'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam in forums i don't read, so cliffs are fine.

As someone from the state of Louisiana I can assure you that Jindal's reputation is rapidly falling apart

He would get crushed in a national election

Wait, did you read that and assume I meant he had absolute power or something?

Of course he can't do whatever he wants but the fact is 2nd term Presidents have far more political leeway since they can't run for re-election.
