nate silver is already getting a ton of backlash from joe morgan-types who don't understand math and are butthurt that math doesn't fit their narratives

seriously though, i voted last week. pretty pissed off because i learned last night that one of the two major reasons i voted (for casinos in AR) is on the ballot but is not eligible to be made into a law due to some shoddy legislative language in the law or some ****. at least everything was kosher for the medical marijuana law so my vote in favor of that actually could lead to the possibility of medical marijuana existing.

In blowout elections it can be a done deal by noon. IIRC, Reagan won 49 of 50 states and that election was basically called before polls opened. There is a lot of talk about the mandatory recount triggers being necessary in at least one of Ohio, Florida, or Virginia which could take longer.

There has been a lot of talk for the potential that this is undecided for the next week to ten days. More informed people seem to hold that opinion than those that think it will be clear tonight.

I think Obama will win. 91% (which Silver is currently projecting) is probably a tad high though.

I'd be very surprised if he's right about all of Colorado, Virginia, and Florida going Obama. If he is, Obama is going to win with over 310 electoral votes, which I think would be pretty surprising to most people.
