lol at the crime part btw, don't go buying drugs in terrible parts of town or wandering off drunk and you'll be fine. Common sense stuff.

the storm barely did anything here in southern mass though. I never even lost power for more than a minute. It was supposed to get most intense here ~6 p.m., but it ran out of steam by then.

i don't want to diminish the flood damage, but when people are riding out the storm by marathoning TV shows, acting like it's doomsday is definitely sensationalizing

it's almost like the storm has different effects on different parts of the coast

that said, the last time i rode out a hurricane the power was out for 11 days, so the idea of riding it out with TV and internet does seem quaint

about the only thing you should be saying is 'i am an idiot'

some people have power, many people don't, people in coastal areas probably don't have a house from which to marathon TV shows

sigh you guys, and no, triumph, tornado gambit was never gonna happen

if you want a more serious post, it's that my point was never that the storm would never damage anything. it's just that it's being crazy exaggerated by the media and it drives me nuts. "60 million in path of killer storm" and whatnot...the amount of media freakout over a post-tropical storm hitting New York is almost more than when a Cat-5 was barreling down on New Orleans. Stuff will flood, stuff will break. A few people will sadly die. It's unfortunate. But you aren't going to have to rebuild your whole city. Hopefully all of you stay safe.
