Want to hear about people's Sandy preparation. Going to break my sobriety. Got a handle of Captain, some Mtn Dew and Coke, the 2nd Game of Thrones book, and my portable DVD player+2nd Laptop battery all charged up in case power goes out. Got Argo ready to go on my laptop and I'm planning on an all-nighter tonight and trying to stay awake until potential power outage. Figure once it goes out then I'll hibernate as I have off work Monday and Tuesday with a delay already in place for Wednesday.

I suggest extra cell phone batteries to anyone in any situation. They can be had for extremely cheap on amazon, and coupled with a wall/usb battery charger you will never have to plug your phone in again.

Going to a sporting event and tailgate that sucks your battery because of ****ty service? Frankenstorm? Camping trip? Having 4 extra fully charged cell phone batteries always on hand is awesome and better than carrying a charger everywhere.

and lol to all of you with iPhones.

This hurricane gonna brutalize. Thoughts and well wishes to those in the way.

Related: Al Roker needs to get fatter, quickly. He almost got blown down twice from the winds during his last Weather Channel segment.

No, of course not. That's a dumb presumption. I've never voted, and it wasn't bent in the first place. I was just shocked to see a new-to-me subset, and later I made a joke about iPhones.

The Weather Channel. Measured at a weather station. I knew it was a matter of time before some Boston resident chimed in with "but at my house........."

Wind gusts are pretty insane right now and its supposed to get much worse. Everytime it picks up it sounds like the windows are gonna cave in.

Still got power for now. But, my hope of keeping it through the storm is all but gone.

Barrier islands here at the jersey shore and mainland by the bay are getting crushed with flooding and the storm isn't even fully here yet.

This is going to be really bad.

Good advice. Can't have too much water, ice, or too many candles or flashlights.
