Just saw a car crash on my way to work this morning.

Lady on a two-way street ran a red light, basically T-boned a lady coming down a one-way. Hoods basically crashed into each other in an L-shape, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. A quarter-second later and impact would have been made right on the driver's side door.

Made sure nobody was life-threateningly injured, called 911 to make sure cops were on the way, and kept walking to work. I don't have any obligation past that, do I?

Could have stayed as a witness to ensure the right person got fault but not doing so doesn't make you a bad person.

You probably could have just given your phone number to one of the participants, preferably the victim, so you weren't delayed further.

yeah I was the first to an accident last fall, I stayed until the cops got there and they ignored me when I told them what happened.

usually I'd imagine it's pretty obvious whose fault it was anyway.

I once did that when I saw an accident in Vegas. It was pretty crazy. Stayed there, spoke with the cops.

Actually, it was crazier than that - we were the first on the scene, and one of my friends rushed in and basically was doing some first aid stuff. It was ridiculous.

I pulled up and it wad crazy bc there are two mangled cars in the middle of the road and no one around. took me a second to realize it just happened.

2 women bleeding and crying crawling out of their car and the guy in the other car was knocked out. I thought he was dead at first until I shook him awake.

crazy 5 minutes.

Yeah, this didn't seem too serious. I ran up to about 15 feet away (I don't know **** about first aid so if somebody was seriously injured they wouldn't get much help from me).

I basically just made sure nobody needed immediate help, called 911, then got out of there cause I had to get to work. The runner of the red light seemed fine but a little shaken up. The lady who got hit was holding her shoulder, wouldn't surprise me if she had a broken collarbone, but she was walking around and not in serious pain it appeared.

I was only about 3 minutes away from school so I was still in teacher mode, immediately pointed at a guy wandering out of his house to call 911 and report 3 injuries, one unconscious and 2 bleeding from their heads.

woke the guy up and got him out of the car and laying on the road.

went over to the two women, calmed them a little, ran and got a towel from my trunk and held it to the one's nose that was gushing blood.

lots of people in their cars, no one got out. that 5 mins before the cops/ambulance got there felt like an hour. I was a dispatcher for an ambulance company in college where you'd randomly at 4am get a 911 call for a shooting, and I've always been pretty focused in stressful spots, so I had everything pretty well managed.

before the cops got there the one chick's phone rang and it was her mom and she was still out of it so I told her I was going to answer it..

"hi, first know that everything is going to be okay. your daughter was just in a car accident. she's conscious and the ambulance is on it's way..."

I got about that far before she started wailing and screaming.

I got which hospital she wanted her daughter (probably 20 or so, pretty good looking black chick) to go to and she hung up I'm assuming to go there.

stayed with the two girls bc they were the ones who looked like they might pass out. by that time the guy was awake and stomping around muttering 'they ran the stop sign'. he wanted to yell at them but I pushed him back and told him to relax bc it was clear the way the stop sign was and where their cars were that it was the girls' fault. also that maybe he wanted to sit down bc he didn't remember being unconscious when I pulled up.

cops got there, were pretty worthless for a couple minutes. ambulance got there, I went up to them, told them about the guy being unconscious and the girls bleeding. asked the cop if he needed anything else and bounced.

My friends mother got these cats from the pound about 4 1/2 years ago, my room mate and I have had them for about 2 1/2 since his mother moved to arizona. they are brother and sister and have a really close bond. I wasnt much of a cat person when they first arrived (our family had dogs when I was growing up), but they are pretty awesome. They arent very expensive to take care of (at least for us considering we didnt have to buy them, give them shots, neuter them, etc) and not much effort is exerted into taking care of them, either. Anyway, this is a project I made when I was first using imovie:

Those look a lot like mine actually, although I am guessing they don't have claws given all the up close battling with no real outcome.

Cats vs. Dogs isn't like unbuttoning/unzipping to me in that I don't see there being a clear favorite. That said I think cats def get the nod in ease of care. Most of the time they just do their own thing and they're born almost entirely house broken. Pretty sweet.

Did anyone else see the 30 for 30 where the Duke boosters were trying to outbid the Kansas booster so they could put Naismith's rules of the game at Cameron Indoor? Have never hated an academic institution more at any time in my life

Spoiler:
Not counting the ones that cover up for child rape

they have claws, but I bought a big structure that has rope and a separate scratching post below the two beds, so i think that they file down the nails that way. Im personally against getting the claws removed because its really painful i heard and I stopped caring about my furniture awhile ago. Also, they can kill spiders and stuff around the apartment, if they happen to be there.

I think dogs are great if you have the space for them to roam around outside. Also, they must be trained to go outside to go to the bathroom without you being around, imo. Cats are the perfect apartment animal, imo. And ya, I maybe buy a big bag of food and a big bag of litter once every two months or so (45 bucks or so). I clean the cat box once every few days, make sure the water is full and clean, fill there bowl with food once a day. Not too hard. Its also true that cats dont need to be walked or anything.

The great thing though is that I can leave for campus all day, or spend the night some where on the weekends and not have to worry about **** on my carpets or something. Most dogs arent well trained enough to just go outside and come in on their own, if you are even lucky enough to have an expansive backyard that is.

my cat cares about me so much that she throws a fit by running around the house like a lunatic and yowling when i don't immediately sit down and let her on my lap upon returning home. as far as affection goes it's no having my face licked by an animal that was just licking its own ass but i'll take it.

her name is the notorious c.a.t. but i just call her cat.
