Sounds like his fight instinct didn't quite exist

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Fighting Stories

fighting is usually stupid amongst adults. Ive gotten into a drunken fight once where we both agreed (friend) and i cracked him the jaw and he quit (lucky punch). and twice been sucker punched. Last time was at work by a ********** baseball player who i fired and he caught me turning around minutes later and got a good lick in(black eye) while i tried to tackle him and no more punches were thrown until it got broken up. Had the little ****er (6'3 220) arrested. Embarressing i agree

Just an FYI for the future: when you hear a thunderous, disembodied voice bellow, "Finish him!" you don't actually have to kill the guy

Deadspin highlight comment of the day, this time regarding Nike's termination of Lolance Armstrong's endorsement deal:

Quote:
This is almost as despicable as when Nike terminated its involvement with Ms. Summit by sending her a single sheet of paper...each side of which stated "We've terminated your contract, please see reverse side for details." - Sponsored by V8

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Fighting Stories

I've been in lots of fights obv lol. Most were when I was in HS or younger though, and I also have lost a lot more than I won. I was the kid with "heart" that would rather get pounded by the toughest guy in school than back down and take ****. Looking back, pride is overrated. Though I did have a couple moments of glory!

As an adult I've never started a fight but I have been involved in a few. I have several of those friends (or used to) who you just know are looking for trouble at the bar when drinking heavily but they're in your group and you have no choice but to get involved when punches get thrown. Ughh. It's a horrible feeling thinking that you have to defend someone who deserves to get his ass beat.

I was also involved in a benches clearing brawl in some men's league game. That was pretty scary, since there really isn't anyone there in a position to break it up other than the rational ones on both sides.

I've also been jumped and robbed while I was alone, and tried to fight back (unsuccessfully) to get to safety if that counts. They weren't armed, so I was willing to try. I've been robbed twice more at gunpoint, those times of course I could not do anything.

i don't really recognize your name from interacting here, but i'd like to say, i'll remember you now because this reminds me of me a lot.

the one time as an adult that i DID try to start a fight, my wife (engaged but still g/f at the time) and i lived in a condo up the road, and a couple friends were over. one brought his buddy that i'd never met. i didn't like him from the rip. he kept making fun of my wife (just stupid ****, but stupid **** that i'll take from life-long friends and **** she'd clown them back for, but this kid i'd known for an hour) and kinda flip-kicked my kitten.

i took the jokes (b/c who am i to get mad at someone clowning?) but when he got my cat (wasn't at all a kick, she was sitting in the doorway and he had to piss and he set his foot under her and lifted her like medium-strength about 2 feet away) i had enough.

we were in each other's face in the kitchen, his friend (my friend) told him to apologize, he said, '**** him' (to me) while our faces were still like 9 inches away so i headbutted him.

at that point i was ready to go, he was my size and **** him. so he pulls a little 3" pocket knife out of his pocket and my (his) buddy pushed him back.

i started laughing, because in the main drawer in the kitchen we kept a baby .380, so while he was making a tiny, tiny bit of an issue like he was gonna push past his buddy to "stab" me, i laughed and said 'JK let him come' and grabbed the .380.

re-reading edit: needs to again be said, i wasn't shooting this guy, it wasn't even loaded. i kinda wiggled it at him b/c he had the smallest knife i'd ever seen. this isn't a gangster story, just saying he backed up like he was mad and pulled out a can-opening knife. so because our other friends were laughing at him, i opened the drawer and grabbed the tiny gun and started laughing. this wasn't a ok corral moment, it was funny believe it or not.

understand that when i headbutted him i was ready to go, but when he backed up and grabbed his corkscrewknife, our friend grabbed him and my tiny wife grabbed me, so it wasn't about 'i'm gonna shoot this guy' it was more to show him how ridiculous he was being in my home.

he got pushed outside and 10 minutes later he was in my living room taking a shot with me.

that was a time as an adult where i felt like i was purposely trying to initiate a fight (the headbutt). he was a loud mouth dumb ass (all of my friends are loud mouth dumb asses but i've known them for 20 years, this particular one needed to ingratiate himself first) and in my house, friends and fam are the only people allowed to do that w/o recourse. haha

/too long didn't read wiper's dumb story

p.s. as long as this thread is still named 'fighting stories', i'll probably add one a day. haha

p.p.s. golfed with the guy above maybe a month ago and probably 5 times this summer. good guy.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Fighting Stories

Just adopted two kittens from a ****hole apartment complex I was at for business. They were living in pretty horrible conditions and it was too hard to leave them there. Probably a huge mistake but it felt like the right move.
