Sometimes you gotta just get into a fight. I've been in my share of them. I don't think there's anything wrong with it - it's just defending yourself. It's another thing to initiate a fight over nothing...

I've been in a fight once. Was drunk at a bar in an incredibly negative mood. Some guy bumps into me and gives a disapproving look, I ask him if he has a ****ing problem and before I know it I am trying to slam his head into the wall. It was quickly broken up though, and all I had to show for it was a bruised ear + ripped jacket.

When I'm only normal drunk and face confrontation, all I can think about is how getting in the face will probably hurt and how I'll probably end up ruining my clothes and err on the side of quietly slinking away.

haven't been in a fight since like 13. that was the only one. we fought to a draw and then got broken up because i picked up a big ass limb and was about to whomp him with it.

really can't fathom getting in a fight now outside my girl getting groped while out for drinks right now. well, my sister is a pretty mouthy bitch, i could see her starting something with some randoms.

edit: was goign to say we needed a change from Workout Stories to Fight Club or Fighting Stories, but mods be pullin their weight in here.

That Bill Murray story is awesome. Murray and Robin Williams both seem like they've kept their sense of humor as they've gotten older. Chevy Chase, not so much.

in reading about the early days of SNL, i don't think chevy chase ever had an offstage sense of humor.

Robin Williams is painfully unfunny, he didn't have anything to lose besides a really expensive coke habit.

Bill Murray on the other hand is awesome per that story but not sure what to make of Phildo's link.

Met Bryan Doyle Murray a couple of years ago at a restaurant during spring training. He introduced himself like I wouldn't know who he was. Actually my first thought was "that's the guy from Groundhog Day" but obviously that's doing his immense body of work a bit of a disservice. Super friendly guy.

It's more just that I'm amazed at the amount of energy he has whenever I see him doing an interview, for someone who's 61 now. Seems like he enjoys life stilll, as opposed to some guys, who seem burnt out and miserable.

Yea, seeing the way he comes across now, it wouldn't surprise me if he was always a little like that.

Will always love this clip though

To tie in the fighting with Brian Doyle Murray and with Caddyshack:

What's that sign say?

No bare feet!

What's THAT sign say?

No fighting.

Sometimes.... but the vast majority of the time it's fairly easy to give way to the ****** and avoid the fight.

talking about a once every few years, at most, type thing. hardly the brawler type. but rather, if you're late 20s, probably about ~4. dunno, that seems relatively normal to me and OK

bobbo, I'd guess that ~50% of the fights I've seen (and 1 or 2 that I've been in) happened on a basketball court.

confirm/deny?

also, more than half have been with friends over stupid ****. waay more likely than a random in my experience.
