I visited a friend who lived on the lake in the middle of winter. It was pure misery because it was like 10 degrees and the wind was ridiculous. I will concede that its probably pretty great when the weather is nice.

It's usually warmer next to lakes during the winter and cooler during the summer, the water doesn't get as cold as frozen land but takes longer to heat up come summer time

HAHAHAHA ten degrees pure misery?

That's decent weather where I live during the winter. ****in -12 Celsius when -20 is common.

Belize is the 2nd best country in the world afaik, so that's a pretty solid 1-2 punch

I'd rather use something with a wider spectrum for description

When someone asks you the color of something do you wish you only had primary colors?

Stupid analogy is stupid.

Metric system>all.

metric system is better, no doubt. with that said, when someone spits out a meter distance, it takes several seconds to get a grasp on how far it is (have to go meter ~= yard, and then figure it out from there). have no real preference in the celsius/fahrenheit debate. guess i prefer kelvin more than anything because it was used in all my physics problems while still in undergrad.

celsius is better for pretty much all measurements except the daily weather. too bad the daily weather is like 80% of what non-scientists use temperature scales for

Kelvin is > Celsius, so they don't even have science on their side

Isnt that why Fahrenheit was invented tho? The guy was out one winter day and it was really cold, so he decided that had to be 0 degrees.

i am pretty sure it's based on the melting-freezing point of something ridiculous.

edit: yeah, he used brine. because i mean who doesn't think about that.

It's warmer by the lake in the winter, and the wind is everywhere.

It did get pretty hairy when the lake spills on to Lake Shore Drive.
