the only problem i've realized is that i'm gonna have to button that top button on my shirts now to get the bow tie to fit.

with regular ties i never ever button that first button. tie just hangs loose below the open collar.

that's kinda the point. i mean, yeah there are people that if they didn't have to wear a tie they'd look pretty sloppy at work. and while i'm def not a fashion person, i got enough nice golf shirts and pants to look fine at a god damn school.

taking away the option of wearing golf shirts pisses me off. sooo, i'm basically going to keep trolling the tie rule until...well i don't know what i'm actually looking for but i'll know when i get it.

just basically being a dickhead.

Pants without a belt just looks stupid as hell (especially if a shirt is tucked in) regardless of the belt's functional necessity.

When my parents were in high school they attempted to make the teachers wear ties. The super hippy art/welding teacher just braided his beard into his chest hair (I have no idea how this works and there are no pictures) in some tie shaped form. IIRC the administration relented.

The best part about the buttoning/unbuttoning argument is the condescension that somehow the other side is dumber or less mature or gayer than you

Also I agree with Dids for once re: belt

Wiper,

Complaining about ties and using women, who have it INFINITELY more difficult than men in terms of how hard it is to get dressed/manage their wardrobe, etc, as an excuse/comparison is pretty weaksauce. Suck it up bro.

A disturbing number of men over 30 in the UW campus, that's for sure.

I have some shirts that I like that are from my pre-unfatting days that you have to, simply because if you tuck them in they look decent, and untucked would make me look even more like an overgrown child than I usually do.

D.id.s

Invest in some tight fitting stuff that represents the new Dibs. Will improve your appearance almost as much as losing the weight. Would be a shame to be wearing lots of baggy crap that is counterproductive to all the progress you've made.

Hahahaha, my roommate and I got into this discussion after seeing the "headphone on the bottom" commercial for the thousandth time last night. Apparently he puts his in rightside up and does this little flip thing every time he takes his phone out. I literally had to explain to him all the way through why he was doing it totally wrong

Some of the reasons in the "Ban Me! Ban Me!" thread are pretty funny.

I have for the most part. I've donated probably 6 garbage bags full of fat person clothes so far. I just have a few shirts that I'm partial to that look good enough when tucked in that I keep around.

When I was living with kyelb and pongo she berated me about my baggy jeans to the point where I relented a bit, but freed from the oppression realized that I am just 100% more comfortable with blood running through my thighs. (not that I'm out there looking like HipHop Q McRapperson or anything, but most jeans more loose fitting than your average dude)
