Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Also, didn't the Bills stadium used to have corporate name at one point?

They probably thought of the Wilson name as a stop gap until they got another sponsor, then found out no one one cares about buffaLOL.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

yeah pretty much

Quote:
In 1972, Rich Products signed a 25-year, $1.5 million deal, by which the venue would be called "Rich Stadium"; this is one of the earliest examples of the sale of naming rights in North American sports. (The name was somewhat of a compromise, after Bills owner and founder Ralph Wilson rejected the name Rich wanted to use, "Coffee Rich Park.")[6] After the original deal expired in 1998, the stadium was renamed in honor of Wilson, after Rich balked at paying a greatly increased rights fee[7], which would have brought the price up to par with other NFL stadiums.
Coffee Rich Park would have been great

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

The stop gap was Bills Stadium fwiw, then they changed that to Ralph Wilson. Maybe I'm the only one, but it really amuses me that he named it after himself, especially given how ****ty they've been ever since.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Meh, it just seems silly to complain about Ralph Wilson when almost anyone else would have Modell'ed the team to another city years ago.

Surely we don't need more than one thread dedicated to NFL ref discussion?

Turner Field goat owner named stadium. I still think maybe it is just a bad dream that he ever sold the team

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Karak,

I need 32 points from Godgers and Sidney Rice in a performance PPR scoring league. Definitely doable.

But do you think I should maybe put in Cobb instead of Sidney and hope for a Godgers-Cobb connection tonight?

If Jennings is out Cobb might get some looks!

What would you say my odds are?

Unless you get points for drops I wouldn't count on it.

Agree, "Karak's Korner" is a great title and it should become a regular feature of SE

Greg Jennings for Jordy Nelson straight up: who wins the trade over the season?
