This. Don't know why it took me like 5 months, especially since I read the book in anticipation of the movie. Nevertheless we finally watched it Saturday afternoon.

Going to do much better with The Campaign and hit up a Friday matinee. Hope it is hilarious.

new starcraft strategy that actually managed to work: build 550 overlords in a 4v4 game and send them to the opponents's base so it bombards all of their video cards upon first sight of them. if their vid cards are ****ty enough they'll all quit

yeah i mean if they can't even put together a trailer that makes it look like it could be funny, it probably isn't. i know "maybe they don't want to ruin all the jokes in the trailer", but what's the last funny movie you could say that about? i remember it took me a long time to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall bc the trailer sucked (and the title is meh). other than that, idk... (Hot Tub Time Machine maybe? not to dig up the argument about whether that movie is funny or not again)

it seems rare anyway.

oh and Streetsweeper Sim video is good (the hater$ gonna hate bit killed me), but Farming Sim is way better imo

comedy trailers are universally horrible IME - you get some strange cobbling together of punchlines, maybe a slightly extended scene with a basic premise - it has nothing to do with the movie. unfortunately they've realized that a large group of people will literally go see a movie to see a particular scene from a trailer again. they don't say 'I want to see more things like that!', they say, 'I want to see that again!'. and thus the state of movie comedy.

well, yeah you're probably right about that.

my point is, funny movies usually have a trailer that has funny stuff in it, or at least gives the appearance of a potentially funny movie. whereas usually when you see a trailer and don't think it looks at all funny, it's usually a terrible comedy.
