Two problems in that thread: (1) the people who have a disease that I like to call AIDSburgers (e.g., cl.ovis.8); and (2) the people who pretend to have AIDSburgers in order to troll the thread (e.g., chilltown, although he has admittedly been quietly slankin in that thread since losing the loser leaves town bet).

I tried to read the Breaking Bad thread after a recent episode and there was question after question about a guy dividing up money. It was basic arithmetic, thread was a mess, like Rain Man playing Hungry Hippos.

Recently finished S4, and went back to read the thread after the finale to get some other impressions. Mayhem. There ARE a lot of really good posters in that thread, but then there's the Cl.ovis and Exo.thermics to cancel them out.

Also, hate on p.vn all you want but when I read ATF I always agreed with his take on moderation.

Ya, I stopped reading the thread as well because it's so bad. There is a pretty large inverse correlation between traffic and quality in OOTV threads. Mad Men, Justified, Louie and comedies are the best OOTV threads. I am already dreading all the AIDS that will be present in the Homeland S2 thread.

I haven't seen Stay (Sleeping Dogs Lie), but God Bless America and World's Greatest Dad are both really good, I will keep seeing Bobcat Goldthwait movies until he disappointments me.

I hated God Bless America. If you cant find anything worth watching/reading today its your own fault (why the **** do you watch so much tv if you hate it?), and if you hate all the other people in your life its probably you that there is something wrong with, so why dont you just kill yourself?

Have read BB threads for 3 seasons + have read a bunch of OOTV threads + thread gets locked for misogyny gives me quite a bit of information to support my hypothesis.

There are reasons to dislike Skylar's character other than just hating women. My two favorite shows on TV right now are BB and GOT. GOT has strong female characters. Arya/Cersei/Dany are all among my favorites on the show. Breaking Bad just has weak female characters in my opinion, at least for much of the show. (I do think Skylar's character has been better/good recently, which is the only comment I've madeabout her in that thread)

Even this isn't necessarily an example of misogyny, as much as it is someone not seeing the show the way Gilligan means for it to be seen. E.g. people making that criticism are likely to be the type that would complain about how season two of The Wire sucks, because what happened to all the gangsters and street stuff?! I want my explosions and shiny things and scarface type stuff, and I want it now!

*Also, it's not just the female characters on BB. I think Walt Jr's character brings very little to the table, outside of theeggsaredonewhenisaythey'redone.jpeg
