Can someone more educated in this stuff than me talk about if this is the start of a systematic evolution (read: talent cost cutting) measure by all sports networks and how they produce their highlight shows.
I'm sure Sportscenter is a huge profit center for ESPN. Compared to paying a billion a year for 17 MNF games, whatever costs they incur for Sportscenter are nothing given the amount of hours it fills.
