People worry less in tornado alley imo. We have tornados and tornado warnings all the time so if a warning sounds, its kinda like, meh. I'll crack a beer and head to the porch to see whats goin on. Kinda like how people in SoCal get used to earthquakes.

I've always wanted to see a Tornado live. Being in SE Michigan I don't think I will ever get that chance though. It's not like we ever have them, but no matter what city im in, they always seem to fade me.

Hey all, some of you asked for an update about my cat. I was able to pick her up today -she spent 3 nights in the animal hospital. also, the estimate was about 30% high, so I actually got some credit back, which is fantastic ofc. I'm just happy to have her home:



she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which explains why she's so petite. (keep eating, dont gain weight) she'll have to take pills twice/day for the rest of her life, but it's manageable. she also has an upper respiratory infection, so I have antibiotics for her. this was close to the best-cased scenario, considering she was almost completely unable to breath/on oxygen for like 2days straight.

also, when I adopted her, she had no teeth, and I was told she was 5. (I've had her for 3 years) one of the vets there actually thinks she's as old as 15 (12 to 15), which would explain a lot of the health defects. and, frankly, makes me far happier, since I know she's lived a longer life.

or lol oklahoma? I was going to say the same thing. You hear a tornado siren, go out to the porch and see what's going on. It's so damn flat in Oklahoma, you can see to about Utah.

last week they showed sorvino's last ep where he gets shot by that crazy/freaked out gun dealer. that was a goatish last ep for l&o standards. greeveys character just gets killed, and he wasnt even in the ep. curtis retires. lennie retires.

feel like i know way too much about this show

so how about i decide to go to the driving range a little bit ago (lights, ftw) and it's like a 10 minute drive w/1 RR track along the way.

i get to the RR track and i see the arms down flashing and figure, 'meh whatever'.

pull up and there's 2 cars stopped with their lights off in park. and the train...

the train is just cold-stopped. no lights, no sound, just ****ing stopped across the only road to the driving range.

so i wait for like 3-4 minutes and get impatient. i get out and walk up to the train figuring the end of it has to be pretty close on one of the sides so i'd just stroll up, ask the guy in the hat how long it's gonna be and go hit my new driver.

train is like, at least 1/2 mile in either direction. no lights, not running at all, just dead-stopped and silent.

WTF.

there's nothing in either direction, no depots or factories or whatever you'd need to stop for.

boo.

so basically now, in order to get my golf fix before i go to the beach sunday (and nobody else wants to bring their clubs) i gotta get up at 9am tomorrow to golf with my dad and his buddies after being up until like 7am last night and sleeping until 4. i've only been up for not even 8 hours and i'm gonna have to force myself to sleep soon because some dumb drunk train conductor decided to take a nap right across the only road to the driving range.
