Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Here is a pretty good jumping off point for odell in the Chris Henry thread:

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/46...l#post15435304

Plenty of odell posts before that one but this is about the point where he takes the insults to a new level.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Ted had this amazing juxtoposition of a reasonably well-acted realistic relationship/love story with a strong smart female lead character, CENTERED AROUND THE IDEA THAT A LIVING TEDDY BEAR WAS SCREWING IT UP, and a bunch of awesome crude shock humor that explored every possible way they could capitalize on their one joke ("living bear says/does shocking stuff"). It was pretty well done considering that they pulled both of those things off.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

I honestly sat stone faced through the entire movie. And I find the dumbest **** funny. Maybe its just that I don't find family guy funny and the Peter Griffin voice just takes my ability to laugh away.

A friend of mine asked me how "Ted" was and I just told him

Spoiler:

and he said he'd go watch it. Take that as you will.

It takes a lot for me not to laugh at a movie. I mean...the comedy that I think I've found the funniest the past few years is Hot Tub Time Machine.

Jailbait still in avatar imo. Buzzkillington P. Didsery would point out that it's a bit NSFW.

Princess Bride is one of my top three movies along with Usual Suspects and Spaceballs.

I really should learn from past mistakes and just never discuss music, movies, or TV with 2p2. I'm taught each time that my opinions are vastly different. =\

It isn't your fault that you're from New Jersey and therefore have no taste

In fairness I've only lived roughly less than 2 years of my adult life in NJ. It's probably all the moving I've done in the past 8 years.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Damnit...making me do legwork just to see what comedies I've seen since 2010.

Liked Kick-Ass, not sure why its under comedy.
Never saw Toy Story 3 but I've seen people talk positively about it on here.
Lol'd at Death at a Funeral. I thought The Other guys was fairly funny, the Destiny's Child references were lulz. Didn't see Hangover 2. Your Highness was horrendous, damn Natalie crush. Forgot about horrible bosses, that wasn't bad. 21 Jump Street was fairly awesome.

So yeah...only one I've seen multiple times was Hot Tub. Meh...whatever, probably easier just to accept it rather than fight it, =\. Lol.

Not a whole lot on the comedy front period in the past couple years.

Scott Pilgrim was awesome. Agree that Kick Ass was great. Ted was quite good. Dunno, I don't see that many movies.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

One thing my roommate and I were talking about the other day is that every comedy movie in the last say 6 years pretty much recycles the same 10 or so actors. It's getting really annoying.

Jason Segel
Owen Wilson
Ben Stiller
Jonah Hill
Zach Galifianakis
Jason Bateman
Vince Vaughn
Ed Helms
Bradley Cooper
Michael Cera
Marky Mark
Russell Brand
etc

Draw 4 random names from the list, mix, rinse, repeat. Getting a little old.
