Correct. You can always put on a sweater and get warmer. You cannot get more naked. The problem with winter is the lack of sunlight and travel complications, not the cold. Zero degree weather is so much more tolerable than 100.

Yeah, but you live in Seattle, so the comparison is 40 degree weather vs 80

exactly.

dids do you even know what the **** a couple straight days of 0 degrees Fahrenheit is like?

when i picture 100 degrees, i picture swimming and bbq's.

when i picture 0 degrees, i picture being ****ing miserable, sniffling my nose while waiting for the car heater to kick in.

hot > cold

i guess though there's that whole seasonal depression/lack of sunlight thing though too with cold. that has to affect my opinion of it, but while i may occasionally bitch about how hot it is out (but hell, if i'm bitching about the heat i'm still at least outside), i'm completely miserable when it's freezing.

There's no right or wrong with something like this because it's a matter of personal preference, but for my taste I couldn't disagree more. 100 degree is hot - get a cold drink, get in the shade, whatever. I've golfed hundreds of rounds in 100+ degree weather.

Zero degrees is ****ing cold - can't do much of anything outdoors, then you've got situations like ice and snow to deal with. The novelty wears off very quickly. For me at least.

Yeah if you're cold you can always get warmer. If the Heat index is 100 and you're outside you're ****ed. Not to mention being hot makes me cranky and irritable.

I think most feel this way, but I don't think there's a wrong answer with the cold/hot thing. My friend always makes the comment about how you can just put on more clothes if it's too cold, but I still prefer being too hot most of the time. The exception is if it's a formal occasion and I'm outdoors, then I'd rather be cold.

Yea, this is where I'm at. What the climate is like where you live prob makes a difference too.

cold weather isn't so bad unless there's snow, which there often is. and that is the ultimate level of AIDS. if it was just cold that would be fine. so hot is better

Hot>cold not close. Ime bundling up "to get warmer" in 0 degree weather doesnt work because not only am I still cold but I am miserable because I have a million layers of clothes on.

FALSE.

I can always put on more clothes to stay warm, but I can only take so many clothes off to stay cool.

Also, having leftover sweats from outside activity when transitioning inside is infinitely worse than having leftover shivers.

Yeah let's all bundle up like Ralphie in A Christmas Story so we tip like cows at the slightest prodding. Comfy!

who has this problem, ever - 'oh yeah, i fell over because it's cold out and i had too many layers on'

it being hot out makes both eating and drinking booze miserable, that should never be true

Hot > Cold purely based on the nakedness of women. Also have felt the hotter it is the sluttier girls are.

Hot >>>>>>>>> Cold

When it's hot you can go outside with no coat. You can golf. You can go to the beach/lake/pool/etc. You don't have to alter your life because of it. When it's cold you can't do ****. No matter how many clothing items you have on, you can't do ****. (Maybe you are talking about a temperature that isn't even cold like 40 degrees or something, idk.) But you can voluntarily be outside in 100 degree weather all day, no problem. You're not doing that in frigid weather.

I'm for cold >> hot, though I haven't dealt with true cold a whole lot and still have a child-like sense of wonder when it comes to snow because it's happened maybe 25 days total in my lifetime (and that's including ice which is more common where I'm from). First winter up here in NW Arkansas really sucked until I got clothes that actually suited the clime. For about two months I switched my answer on this because I just seemed incapable of ever getting warm.

The problem with heat for me isn't the heat, it's the damn humidity. Summer in Shreveport was like 2 months straight of 100 degree heat, 100% humidity. **** got really old. Afternoon rains make it even worse, though it is somewhat nice during the 10 or so minutes it is actually raining.

Also...I always associate cold with days that have no ****ing sunlight. Go to school/work in the dark. Come home in the dark. ****ing depressing.
