Phildo is too harsh on IB, but is still right. Tarantino's is a good enough technician to make an piece of fan fiction entertaining.

Life is Good is good, but of course the worst track is the one with

i like the Kill Bill movies

and while I think seeing a snuff movie as a kid would obviously not be ideal, i dont think it would **** you up for life. kids get over that kinda stuff pretty quick, they play video games where you can mow down innocent people (ala GTA or that CoD level).

so like long term effects? meh. short term yeah ill buy that.

there is a difference between mowing down cartoon people in a game and watching a video of an actual person getting killed

It seems pretty easy these days to block a kid's access to porn or whatever on the web, at least to prevent accidental exposure. If a kid wants to find weird ****, they're probably going to find a way, that's just what kids do. Same with any other thing that parents worry about, it's out there if a teenage kid truly wants to get at it.

I don't see how the level of "exposure risk" is any different from kids growing up in the city who see all kinds of random adult stuff just by being out in their neighborhood. It's the parent's responsibility to help them deal with it or advise against it so it doesn't freak the kid out or get them in trouble. Blocking the kid off completely is just going to create problems down the road.

The web is going to be such an integral part of a kid's life these days, you really can't just cut out these massive chunks of it. Think of all the great stuff a kid could learn just by surfing wikipedia or watching educational stuff on youtube, then think of the small percentage of age-inappropriate pages there are on those sites. Is that worth blocking the entire site? Not saying it's easy, but I think selective filtering tools and parental involvement can go a long way in addressing the early-exposure issue.

Also, Tarantino is awesome, haters gonna hate.

co-signed on both. how either of them thought 'summer on smash' fit into the album is beyond me.

got the album yesterday, got a little distracted as i meant to listen to it straight through but only skimmed. probably tonight after this wedding reception i gotta go to i'll give it a full listen. also got aesop rock 'skelethon' yesterday. i decided i'm not gonna try so hard this time with his album. listening to aesop sometimes feels like work, so i'm just gonna listen to the beats and if i catch a couple things, fine. if not, so be it.

for the record, i had only heard 'loco-motive' off nas, and that was only b/c a buddy had put it on a mix he made for the ride to the killer mike/el-p concert we went to. so basically i got a whole album of new nas ahead of me.

My oldest is four. She will often take my ipad and spend time on youtube. She'll start with my little pony or barbie or something like that, and then just hit the recommendations on the side, ending up all over the place. She's never landed on anything super awful, like porn, but she has gotten to "home vids" of people playing with the toys, using profanity and stuff. The only thing we're concerned about is her repeating the language, but she's pretty good about moving to a new vid if we tell her that the one she's watching is bad.

I think it can be tough in the internet age, but not impossible. You just have to pay attention.

Some experts have questioned this line of thinking and suggested that dinosaurs romped in water. Biologist Stuart Landry believes that big dinosaurs would just fall over on land and would have needed water to provide support.
That's sort of an ingenious hypothesis, actually.

how do you "stumble upon" the Daniel Pearl video? is it just randomly embedded into sites a typical 10-year-old would be browsing?
