Nah, I never text at the front of a red light, and I very rarely text at all while driving. If I do it's like a "yes, I'll b there n 10 mins" type thing at the very beginning of a red light that I know lasts xx amount of time, and I hold the phone up next to the steering wheel so I can keep my eye on the road.

* But I do agree that in general people overrate their driving ability when it comes to driving while texting or pretty much anything

Yeah I guess I shouldn't have put "totally" in the second post you quoted. Basically I'm never in many conversations when out at a bar where I feel like pulling out my phone to text would be considered awkward/rude.

Had like four obviously 18-16 year olds pull up to a redlight in a convertible a few days ago absolutely blaring [like so loud is was distorting] "Weak Ass Bitch" by 36 Mafia. I could've had it much worse as a child, I suppose.

honestly, you'll get to the point (hopefully) where you just don't do it during any conversation. i have a friend that sounds like you and he'd send a billion texts a day. eventually he realized that if his phone was out people with him would completely ignore him.

and i will get off my soap box now.

5 girls got killed from my highschool 5 years ago for texting while driving. Impairment studies say it's the WOAT non drunk activity

that's different. if we are two dudes at the bar do whatever you want. the original example was dinner, and if i am paying for your meal (assuming date like environment, not with you, just how i read nate's comment) those mf'ers need to wait at the very least until i get up to take a piss.

in other bar news, i really don't know how my gf and i are going to make it through these next two weeks until she takes the bar. are you snapping on bitches left and right, karak?

was behind a guy today on a scooter and had to wait about five seconds after the light turned green so he could quit texting and place his phone back in his pocket.

I'll probably go with a Peyton avatar once the NFL season starts.

"Coming home after the WSOP, I made a sharp turn and heard my scooter fly off the carrier. Hope nobody was hurt, I couldn't stop.#newscooter"

just cause it's an interesting place to see news sometimes i guess. i tend to stay away from it for anything else.

the ray bitar surrender was in NVG well before it was reported by any other news source iirc.

kyleb (or really anyone that knows anything about baseball),

is switch-hitting a learnable skill? mentioned it earlier, but it really got me thinking what percent of people that switch hit in mlb picked that up at some point in the minors vs. learning to do it at some point in the little league to hs baseball time span. didn't want to start a thread because i generally abhor doing so and didn't know where else to ask.

not sure how relevant this is to switch-hitting, but ichiro is a natural righty and his father basically forced him to hit lefty so he's "closer to first base"

Total guess but I'd assume most people started switch hitting at a young age. Very few I'd imagine could pick it up in their 20s.
