henrik: it still holds celebrities up even if it's doing so to bring them down. i mean, i'm not categorically against celebrity culture - it has a ton of similarities to sports culture, but it's for women. and it just seems dickish how they go up to celebrities doing their everyday thing and bother them - i think people in the entertainment industry choose when they get to entertain me; i don't get to have 24/7 access to their life just because they are famous. unless they're louis ck but again, that's his choice.

It's really a shame that Donnell Rawlings doesn't seem to do anything else, I loved him on that show.

I think Clayton Bigsby and the racial draft are somewhat overrated. In general, I'd say that the sketches that were directly about race were less interesting and funny than sketches that were more character driven (some examples mentioned in this thread being the true Hollywood stories, Mad Real World, Wayne Brady). I also liked some of the throwaway ones where Dave is just goofing off - Fisticuff's "Turn My Headphones Up" being a recent example that I rewatched the other day.

It's tough for me to say which ones would be a top 5. Some of them made me howl when they first aired (Rick James, Wayne Brady) but I feel like their effect has diminished with time. I picked Player Hater's Ball #1 because I can still put it on and laugh my ass off, and then I can watch it again ten minutes later and laugh just as hard.

Agree with whoever said earlier that the outtakes show is elite. It's basically just Dave making fun of himself and the writing staff, but he pulls it off really well.

Def helps that it had Player Haters go back in time.

Doesn't he like live in his hometown now? It's some small town in Ohio.

I keep hearing stories that he goes out to perform standup, but he gets pissed when people try to record his shows on their phones and ****, so he stops mid-show. (And inexplicably, the people recording don't stop recording so he can actually perform his show. Kind of ****ed-up if you ask me.)
