even as a smug jerk, it might be hypocritical for me to dislike professionally smug jerks, but i find the perspective obnoxious. i think the show (what i've seen of it) is 'entertaining' and they've thought of an interesting perspective on how to stage a show about celebrity gossip, but it's still eminently hateable.

yeah exactly, hilarious! and who can't get behind a show trolling "celebs" (and championing the good ones). if something was built for the SE demo...

i mean, Triumph prob has a valid opinion on why TMZ sucks or whatever, but i'm more speaking to the ppl who proclaim it the WOAT out of hand, and say it's the worst thing to happen to our society, etc (actual opinions i've heard from folks), and not realize that it's at least a million times better than the entertainment mag shows like Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Showbiz Tonight, and the like. like if ppl ever needed to be taken down in public, it's ppl who are famous for being famous, and living out fake lives in public. especially when you can accomplish this in a way that's funny, and they do imo.

and the show anyway has become a weird hybrid reality type show, where the correspondents (or whatever you wanna call them) have become like actual TV characters, intentionally or not (prob at least some part on purpose). and that's part of the appeal of the show too, imo. most of the time the video they get from a celeb or whatever is just a jumping off point for a tangentially-related discussion by the ppl in the office. and i find pretty much all of them to be funny and likeable. sorta confused how ppl could find it "eminently hateable".
