Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

btw was enjoying a vittle at a sports bar yesterday and in the absence of selection they had some Australian Rules Football on. It was ****ing fantastic watching, no idea how it hasn't caught on elsewhere. Nonstop action, people constantly fighting/punching each other, NBA-like scoring, coolest reffing signal in all of sports (signaled by the easiest reffing job in all of sports).

It's not really like either tbh, I guess rugby if I had to pick one. It's pretty great tho.

Yeah I don't know how to define it other than "pretty awesome" and with very little downtime.

That video was pretty elite aside from the constant lol Dwayne Russell.

That Nick Davis goal still haunts me.

If you have interest in the sort of thing and you were in charleston, sc, would you go to fort sumter or see the battleships and aircraft carriers?

If you have an interest, I'd definitely recommend both. I was on the Yorktown a really long time ago, but they also had some other ships docked there at the time. It may be different now, but you used to be able to see just about every element of the ship, check out the entire flight deck, etc. The whole site is called Patriot's Point.

I've been to Sumter too, also really cool. One of the better Civil War sites I've visited, you can still see some of the original cannon balls lodged in the walls. You have to take a quick boat ride out there, it's located offshore.

If you had to choose just one, I'd say it depends on whether you're more interested in naval warfare/WWII or the Civil War. Fort Sumter may be more unique though, since there are a few other places you can see an aircraft carrier around the country.

When that commercial first came out, I got tons of random dudes doing that 'through the hoop' move form the commercial when I'd put them on the scoreboard. It was an epidemic.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Anyone watching this HBO show that takes a really hackneyed, bullheaded and idealistic view of journalism that doesn't exist in the real world, that paints every character with a really broad brush and has a charismatic lead that's clearly supposed to be a creator-surrogate. It's called

Just finished the finale

I thought s5 as a whole was kind of ehh, but the last half was definitely awesome. While someone before said the last episode was how everything came full circle, it's not a cop out ending it's just true. Even within the show we saw that happening. They can't end it with a "they all lived happily ever after" type ending, because it's not true.

Ya, everything coming full circle isn't a cop out at all.

I think a big chunk of the s5 hate was because it was the only season most of the late charging hipsters watched as it aired.

Nah, I watched the DVDs straight through w/o outside noise, the journalism and fake serial killer plots were just straight-up gawdawful.
