I did, and like someone else said, it took me until about episode 5 or 6 to realize how great it actually was. The first ep that I thought it was goat was actually when Omar's boy, Brandon, was laid out on the car all cut/bruised/burned up. I just remember thinking "wow, there's never been anything like this on tv." And almost nobody was even watching it. I didn't know anyone who watched until S3, and then more by S4.

I'm glad that I was able to see it week by week, and anticipate the new episodes. Guess that makes you appreciate it a little more, than if you just pop in a dvd or hbo go. It gives you more time to think through plots, and even rewatch an episode before the new one premieres. Like, for example, I think it was Nath who said he didn't know who was leaking information to Burrell in S1. If you watched it one ep/week at a time, it was kind of obvious by rewatching that ep (before the next one came out) that Carver did it. And they strongly hinted that when Daniels mentions it, and they immediately show Carv's worried face.

eta: I had already seen a lot of Homicide: life on the streets episodes and the corner, so I was familiar with David Simon already, and didn't expect it to be "another cop show."

If you liked that, check out the movie "Centurion" - same director as Blackwater (the guy also directed "The Descent" which is an unreal awesome horror/suspense movie)

some good reality or unscripted on now that i watch sometimes include a new one "fast n loud" and ice road truckers lol and gold rush was good. oh first 48 was pretty sick and probably still is just dont watch as much.
<3 the TUF mention. The first seasons were awesome, and had awesome fights. Once they did S4 (The Comeback) it went down hill. Fighters realized that the contract they won was ****ty, and that there was better ways into the UFC. The stress those guys put on their bodies doing the show is terrible, and they get no money. By going through WEC or Strikeforce, you were making money and had potential at a bigger contract

7.2 trillion degrees F (only 4 trillion C) is the new record for highest temperature by man made people colliding atoms. they actually did it in 2001 too but guess they had to build a really big thermometer or something because they finally recorded it. they say thats the temperature of universe like a millionth of a second after big bang. that was just in the new york collider, the bigger europe one probably already beat it and will soon again. thats crazy what engineers and scientists can build and do. 250k times hotter than center of sun.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

i was watching the trailer to taken 2 again and it got me to thinking: why aren't more action sequels kinda built along the same principle?

in an action movie the hero kills tens to hundreds in his wake, why not have one random guy, some forgettable character, in the middle of that onslaught have a family or some kind of group who plots revenge as the basis of the sequel?

because the audience wouldnt care? because the family member of the dime a dozen bottom of the rung lackey doesnt have the resources?

might as well just create a new villain of some kind.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

i mean in less the kill in question had some kind of significance

like if in Taken, when he busts into the Paradis with the red door, if one of the guys kids is in there (a child), and liams character makes a point of not killing him and it makes a big enough deal to be an impact, then perhaps. but thats way too much effort.

I imagine the economics of it also have some effect as if it's a sequel to a hit movie, everyone involved wants more moneys.

This would be a really cool idea provided they tied it to a character that wasn't just henchmen 29 in the previous film. Make it a semi-important guy and I'd watch it.

Today I learned that posters in the soccer threads are bad at math and critical thinking.

But yeah that game was ****e.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

that game was pretty much every negative stereotype associated with soccer rolled into a single match. don't get me wrong, i enjoy soccer though i'm not an avid fan, but that was just a thoroughly boring and frustrating game. 1 side full of scumbags 1 side full of pussies. **** them both

Is the joke not on you guys for watching it?

I mean I don't sit through hours of a basketball game just to be able to say how bad it actually is. That would be really pathetic, no?

even if the score is 10-10 for 40 minutes and nobody gets a shot off, you'll still watch game 7 of the western conference finals cuz it's a huge game and it's tightly contested
