I mean they are all depressing, but S4 is just that little bit moreso, whereas S1-3 I can always enjoy the humor and other awesomeness enough to live with the tragedy.

yeah was thinking that the difference with S4 is that...

Spoiler:
S4 spoilers!
Spoiler:
...it's children who are getting screwed over, rather than adults who can make their own choices in life, etc. so yeah i guess that's more depressing.

Got my official not-a-permit, real-deal Class A CDL today, along with my certificate from the community college. Got a job lined up based in Portland. The last time I felt this on track and in charge of myself, I must have been ****ing fifteen years old. Which, you know, fifteen-year olds are idiots, so damning with whatever, but still.

Everybody underrates Season 2 the first time through and then adjusts it up re-watching the series.

commercial drivers licenses have classes. A, B, and C. A covers everything, B a bit less, C way more less.

so as a class A driver I will be pulling 53-foot trailers, unhindered by any max gross weight rating. although the max limit to pull is 84k or whatever, for anyone. and lower on smaller and/or more local roads, obviously. but like for class B, i believe, the combination vehicle must not be rated for more than 26k pounds. that's definitely for something. maybe class B is straight vehicles (not a trailer) but i think that's class C, with class B being combination (trailer) but the 26k thing. i'm doing some drunk rambling here; i've edited to add like 6 times when i probably should have done zero.

this could kind of turn into my optimal situation: massive amounts of time to myself, grinding it out; all of baseball on satellite radio; and a home in Portland

It might be that. It just seems that the majority of s2 main story was almost a stop-gap situation.

S2 is pretty great both as a stand-alone season and because even though the port story doesn't really reappear in future seasons, it does set up a lot of important stuff down the line.

I've probably re-watched 4 and 2 more than any others.

I agree with this ranking fwiw. Actually you could talk me into any ranking as long as you have 5 last.

+1

So much of S2 is echoed in future events. It's a difficult and sudden transition for viewers, but the show really takes off and separates itself from the simple "cops and dealers" angle here. S2 keeps drawing me back more than any other.

Congrats and good luck, PC! Portland is officially Braves territory now.
